Hello! Our Chaudrons hail from France. They came to America in the 1700's via Santa Domingue at the time of the insurrection.

Hello, By my grandma Flossie Sutherland (Clark) of Des Moines and Panora, Iowa, I am related to Caudrons via her sister Bertha Sutherland (Bechtel) of La Junta, CO / Panora, IA who had a daughter Leah Irene (Bechtel) that was married (4-11-46) to Henry Calvin Caudron. They had two children: Victoria Rea Caudron (b. 7-30-54) and Roger J. Caudron (b.1-13-58). I searched for the above names and found MAYBE Leah was in Polk, IA (d.1983?) and Henry in Woodbury, IA (d. 2005?) but not sure if these are the same family. Any help appreciated.

Jiggs,
In our family history research we have become persuaded that many (if not all) variations of Caudron (e.g. Caudren, Chodron, Chaudron, Chodoin, etc.) may well be directly related to us (Codron). We are American Jews that come most recently from Rhodes (now Greek, then Turkish and Italian). I would be very interested in seeing your tree, ESPECIALLY if you have any indication of a Jewish connection or Codron/Kodron names.

Off topic, I too am a Vietnam Vet, but I am curious: what are C3/1 papers about? Command, Control Communications?

Thanks very much,
Barry Codron
barry.mart@comcast.net

Liz,
The Caudron that married a Great-great aunt of my husband's was Cassimir Caudron who married Sarah Ann Griffin and had Woodbury St. Just Caudron who married a Julia Renaud and had Donald and Renaud Caudron.
Donald and Renaud lived in California until their deaths. Renaud was born in Arizona before 1900, but Donald was born in California in 1901. Renaud died in the Los Angeles area, and Donald died in Contra Costa.
I do not know much more about this line, and I am not certain what you are seeking.
I am seeking information on the siblings and parents of Cassimir Caudron. There is a suggestion that Cassimir was his middle name. He and Sarah married in Hancock Co., Illinois, and later migrated to California.
Jean,
I am interested in a Cassimir Caudron b. abt 1819 who married Sarah Ann Griffin 4-11-1852 in Hancock Co., Illinois. The marriage records state he was born in France. As he was on the 1900 Census, he had to have died after that year. He and Sarah had at least one child - Woodbury St. Just Caudron.

He is not a direct lineage for me, but was married to a sister of a direct lineage. He and Sarah raised Sarah's sister Victoria Louise following the death of their parents. Cassimir signed a persmission slip for Victoria to marry, and Victoria and her husband, George Morris Piper named a son for him. I am interested in knowing whether Cassimir (Casimir?) had siblings and who the parents were.
Thank you.
