Searching for 'Celeste' ancestors in New York and Italy

Hi,

With no known contacts left, I am at a hard block when trying to look for grandparents on back - on my maternal side. My grandfather passed before I was born and I have no good source of his name either. Some notes say Anthony Amick and others James. Some notes question the name Amick may have been converted from D'Amico. I have conflicting documents on my granmothers parents names too.

For exampe, my grandmother, Frances Estelle Celeste born in Beacon, New York, 1918 I found a SS form which lists her father and mother as James Celeste and Bambina Perillo/a dated 1948. However, on my grandmother's death certificate, it lists her father as Salvatore Celeste and mother as Estelle. What can I do now?

I had an uncle named Ross Celesti. Married to Helen Dalesandry. They lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Immigrated to USA c. 1189. I have no information regarding a Celeste working with leopards. I thought this might be a link to some answers about other relatives.

Good Luck with your search,

Carolyn Dalesandry

I tried to e-mail you but in case it did not go here it is...
Hi Sandy!
This might sound weird but in 2001 you posted a message on ancestry.com looking for Peter Richard Tilton. Well, I am Peter Richard Tilton born of David & Judy. In 1986 My step father Chris Hanlon adopted me. To make a very long story short I again changed my name a few years ago to Peter Richard Celeste.
At the present time I have 4 children. Jocelyn is 8, Michael is 7, Hayden is 3, and Carter is 18 months. I have a wonderful wife Robyn and still live in New Jersey (just a little south of where I grew up).
I have 2 jobs. I am a paraprofessional (a fancy name for teacher's aide) for a local public school and work at JcPenny at night. I also am going to school to finish my teaching degree.
Maybe you could answer a few questions for me....
1) Do you know if David is still alive and if he is, where is he?
2) Do I have any brothers and sisters that you know of?
3) Do you know of any family medical history that I should know of (the past 5 years or so have not been to good to me medically)?
Well, I have to go. I promised the kids that I would spend the New Year with them. Hope to hear from you soon!
Peter Celeste
One big cat in one photo and two small kittens in another along with her and
Clara Reeve. My scanner is down but will try to send some
photo when I can. Kent
