Hello, Richard. I think we might be related. I'm sorry I have to contact you on the message boards but I don't have a subscription and wouldn't be able to do otherwise. This weekend there have been certain free immigration records so I was salvaging all I could including reviewing records I already have. I was reviewing a border crossing record from 1912 where some of my grandmother's family (the Logans) were crossing over to Canada (where they eventually settled). Anyway, I noticed you saved that particular record to an Anna Louise in you family tree and if you are related to her then we too are related. Please contact me at
brandontaschuk@gmail.com
I would really like to share and exchange information with you and I'm sure I have some very interesting information for you about Anna Louise Logan (Ellingson) that nobody in my family (or anyone related to her that I know of) has which I found using the great Family Search Norwegian records. I hope to talk to you soon.

Sincerely, Brandon Taschuk

So much for getting to bed early - but I had to take a quick look at your family tree. Thanks for that and I will link you to mine once I figure out how. At Thanksgiving I questioned my mother about Mary Ellen - was she a Champion or a Hill? I now have a birthdate of 1876 from your tree so she was a Champion which I suspected. I think her father was John Champion b. ca. 1847, not James b. 1840 as you have on your tree - we'll have to work on that detail.

Did you take that picture of Elizabeth Jane Guy Delarye's grave, my great grandmother - wife of Edward Guy? You might not know it but as you stand in the Ishpeming cemetery taking that picture, if you take a few steps backward you will be standing next to an obelisk for George Solomon and his family. George was the brother to Ellen Solomon Champion Hill - he died in Wyoming where he was probably a miner.

More later - Dave

I'm thrilled to meet you!

She is buried with John Hill in Ishpeming. I am not sure where John Champion is buried. One of the mysteries yet to be answered...

Hi: I would be interested in any Champion names that you have. When I started this thread over a year ago I was trying to establish that John Champion and John Hill were different people - or that for some reason John and Ellen changed their last name to Hill when they moved to Ishpeming. I'm now satisfied that they were two separate husbands of Ellen Solomon - I am the great great grandson of John and Ellen Champion thru their daughter Elizabeth Jane Champion.

If you prefer you can contact me directly at davidkemp9@embarqmail.com

looking forward to hearing from you - David Kemp

Lovina Champion / Jacob Adams

I'm looking for info on my ancesters Lovina Champion who lived in Mays Landing, NJ. She was b. Dec 22, 1795 in NJ and d. Jan 1, 1864 and is buried in Mays Landing, NJ at the Westcott Free Burying Ground bet. the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches.

She married Jacob Adams on April 7, 1815 in Gloucester, NJ. I'm also looking his parents. Jacob was b.June 14, 1792 d. Oct 8, 1854 and is buried next to Lovina. I have a document that says he brought a house in Mays Landing (which is now 6035 Ken Scull Avenue) in 1832 from James Pennington so am assuming they were living there at that time. The census lists the house no. as 945 and their neighbors as Cloud on one side and Ayers on the other.

I find one reference to their marriage, with her name listed as Vina and a census record from 1850 and 1860 from Mays Landing but nothing before that. The Walter that's living with them is the illegitimate child of one of their daughters, but we don't know which one. Just know that the father was the mayor of NYC in 1848.

I have tried searching with all different spellings of her name, but her tombstone does say "Lovina"

I have exhausted all avenues trying to find anything else about Lovina and Jacob and am fully exhausted.

Help!!!

Champion

George Hamrick came from Germany in 1731, married Nancy Cook. His son George married Susanna Blanton. Their daughter Rebecca Hamrick married James Bridges. Their daughter Vianna Bridges married Henry Ledbetter.
Their daughter Salena(Saleny) married Robert Champion. Their son John married Lucretia Wylie. Their son Johnie Champion married Fannie Hawse.

The William Champion I am searching for was said to have come over with the Hamricks, and settled on the east side of the Main Broad River, in Cleveland County, NC. Just north of the Sandy Run creek. He married Mollie Hamrick and was buried at his old home place. The Champions came from France but came with the Hamricks in 1730. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that Wm Jacob (Buck) and wife Sarah moved from Chowan to Granville Co. then to Rutherford County then down to South Carolina. There are tons of people who are researching this line. Try the Family Trees on here and I'm sure you'll find several. My father was from Granville County and Franklin County, NC. I've only been able to trace his line back to his great, great, grandfather. Problems arise when other Champions came down from Virginia later in the 1700's, so I can't do a direct line back to Edward. Hope this helps!!

I am looking for any information on Thomas Champion that was born somewhere around 1867 possibly in England. He married Elizabeth Mary Rodgers and they lived in Marquette, Michigan and Hibbing, Minnesota. I know that he died in a mining accident about 1913. Looking for any links and ancestry to him. I know that they had about 5 surviving children. Francis, Eliza Jane, Thomas, James, and William Henry. William was my grandfather and have decendents that still live in Michigan. Any help would be appreciated.
