Hi. I remember growing up hearing similar stories but it had to do with a grandmother, Sinona/Zenona and that she hurt her leg while riding off with Pancho Villa while being chased by federales...hmmmmm

You might try contacting Frances Chapa Vera on facebook. Her dad was Pedro Chapa. He had a sister named Ricarda and a brother named Enrique.

I am from the Chapas of Valadeces. My grandfather was Sotero Chapa. If you have any information on my family. My grandfather was not born in 1909 though. I do not know the exact year my grandfather was born. I am thinking probably the 1920s.

I am researching Francisco Chapa, born 1822 in Mier, MX married to Feliciana Villareal, also born in Mier, Mx abt 1834. They are the parents of Sabas, Alexandria, Jose, Juana, Elodia, Mercedes, Sinforiana, and Rosa. Juana married Ignacio Mora.

my father was jesus b. chapa from robstown tex. I have a friend that is also a descendant from this mineral rights and has been giving money to these lawyers for about 20 yrs or so and they keep telling her for the past 4yrs that they almost have the money but they havent. I wonder if they ever will. Im kinda of leary about this. I really hope they do get it but wonder. norma

I have been told that my grandfathers real name was Fransisco Chapa, that he road for Pancho Villa robbing banks and or trains in Texas, and that after the war he settled in Marlin Texas and changed his name to Frank Chavarria. What ever the truth is I believe that he was wanted and really did change his name from Chapa, because when I was 13 I said something about when I was visiting relatives and two of my aunts jumped out of their skin to get to me and chewed me up and down, "you don't ever talk about that", "never ever mention that name", "don't you ever let grandpa hear you say that", "don't even think about it" it scared me half to death, my grandfather (John Chavarria, Fransisco's son) was in the next room. Hope this helps you, I would like to know more, but no one will talk about it, no one who knows about it anyway.

Hi..I am also looking for information on a Francisco Chapa born sometime around 1885 in Agualegras. He was married to a Gregoria Flores and had several children, one being my grandfather, Benjamin Chapa. He died early 1960's so I never met him and no one knows much about his family..If anyone can help me out I would love it..

If we are talking about the same Margarito Chapa, he was the youngest son after Bonifacio Chapa which is my moms grandfather. My mothers mom name is Sylvia. The Margarito i found is in the 1880 census with all of the other names. The clayton library here in Houston has a lot of information. Try to look for a genological library in your area to find information. Also try the Catholic archives in Austin, Texas.

I am trying to find out about my abuelo Manuel. He was killed in May 1983 when caught in gun cross fire. Due to family drama, he wasn't allowed in my Dad's life and my father was able to reconnect with him a few years before he (Manuel) died. Don't know if you still have this e-mail address or not. But your grandfather was my uncle. My fathers name is Guadalupe Guerra. My father and your grandfather were very close. I remember going to your grandfathers funeral a few years ago. Is your family in the lawsuit with Eileen Fowler? I believe your uncle Arnolfo is the family member contact person for the lawsuit. Did you hear about the meeting held in San Antonio last week?
