I'm just trying to research my maternal line, and have found a possible marriage between Peter Levy and Hannah Chapel in Sherborne St John, Hampshire, England. Peter was born in about 1749, does anyone have any information on a Chapel family in Sherborne St John or nearby at that time?

I believe Peter Levy (son of Peter)married Hannah Levy (my daughter's name) formerly Chapple, who was the daughter of John Chapple b Abbt 1727 m 1752 and Deborah (Cole) b Abbt 1731, both from Sherbourne St John.

Yes, my Peter Levy who married Hannah Chapel was from Sherborne St John and I have been told his father was a Peter Levy too. I am descended from Peter and Hannah's son George Levy (1779-1864) who was born in Sherborne St John and moved to Beauworth, where he had a farm and ran the pub.
