Harrison later married Delia Pritchard, his 4th wife. Born of that marriage was Mary Chappel in 1868 and Willie in 1869.

Would like information about Harrison Chappel’s parents. Some relatives have said that they were from New London, CT.
A word on Chappel(l) Chapel spellings--just in case you don't already know this
information. I think one or two ls is of no consequence, as is usual with
names. However the p or double p in the case of this family are meaningful.
One p Chapels are descendants of William Chapel (? - c/. 1690). Two pp
Chappel(l)s are descendants of George Chappel (c.1615-c.1682), also of New
London. No relationship between the two has been discovered. George emigrated in
1635 aboard the "Christian" from London. William's immigration is unknown, but
his first four children were certainly born in New London.

If anyone wants more information on these families, let me know. I have spent a
lot of time researching them, although I think I have more questions than
answers.
Cheryl, Thanks for all your responses..I'm keeping all in a file...As I said we have very little information ..only sibling's name I have is Harriett and her son Rollin(? Scott) and the names of her children...What is so amazing she had so many names..when she was with Latimer Fisher she was called Mary Amelia ( Pamelia) aka: Mila, Melee Chappel / Chappell...I once talked with a Mary 'Lil Chappell said she was 98-99 y/o.. She gave me names, Andrew,Abraham ( found a Abraham in Ft Bend, around same age but that didn't give much.....

I'm very interested in your relative with the Chappell / Fisher connection...
Please continue to send me information
Did I say she Mary Amelia and her first 4 kids lived in Chriesman, TX...all kids were Fishers' and born in Chriesman...Only two of her kids were young enouh to wear their stepfather name and was raised as Ransom... Her youngest son JAMES L Ransom lived in Brenham,TX I believe.
Believe they had some association with the BLACK's Farm.
Thank you for all yoour help..God's Blessings to you and your
j crayton
He has several siblings, the names I have found are Easter/Ester, Orin, Henry Jr, Molly, and Dean. John moved to Greenville Mississippi sometime between 1880 an 1900. Does any of this info cross with yours.

Looking to hear from you soon.

I have come across a death certificate for Emaline,I am waiting for confirmation this is my GG Grandmothers mother. My GG Grandmother has proven to be quite the story teller, which makes it very difficult to prove anything! I recently learned her last name could actually be Blackburn. I found on ancestry the Indiana Marriage, it has Emaline Chapple m Joseph Blackburn 04 June 1846.I cannot find them in a census anywhere. My GG Grandmothher, Mary Ellen ? was born 1848 in Logansport Indiana.Does anyone have any information about this?

Okay, I keep trying to post this reply but the board keeps eating it apparently.

In regard to Florence, the info I have lists her as dying in 1916, not 1918. Her parents were William Frederick Chappell and Emma L. Lentz (born 28 Feb 1842) and they married 23 Oct 1864.

Robert Chappell was 23 years old when his father Robert Grant died in 1928, so...was Durbin William a brother of Robert Chappell's and if so, I wonder why he could not take care of his brother, or not have him taken in by other family at the least and not a foster home. My great grandpa Robert Chappell, however, married a woman named Mary Elizabeth Lewis. They had three children: Robert Chappell Rinedoller Jr., Paul Albert Rinedoller (my grandpa), and Florence Elizabeth. Mary Elizabeth died a few months after giving birth to my great-aunt Florence, and my great grandpa remarried, but not a Margaret. A woman named Elizabeth, who I believe was referred to as Betsy. Or maybe Betty or Bessie. Not sure on those details as she and Robert Chappell died shortly after I turned one year old, so I never actually MET them because I was obviously not old enough to register who they were. I was born 12 Sept 1983 and Robert C Rinedoller died 30 Sept 1984...so, yeah.

Thanks for the other bits I didn't have. I just wish I knew where in Germany it is that John Jacob Reinthaler came from.

I have ancestors from Darmstadt, Wurzburg (and the Berlin area on my father's side). Rinedoller, my surname, happens to be my mother's maiden name. Long story.

I do love the Chappell name though and someday I plan on continuing it by giving it to my future son as a middle name.

- Holly Rinedoller,
possibly related through prior generations :-)

Hi Holly,

Got your thread and have some information. I have been corresponding with Paul for many years. He is now in Korea.

I have information on Florence as shown below. She was born on Sep 8,1874 in Pennsylvania. She married in 1898 to Robert Grant Rinedoller. She died on Nov 4, 1918. Her father was William T. Chappell who was born in 1836. Her mother was Emma, surname unknown and was born in 1842. They had three children. Robert Grant Rinedoller was born on May 20, 1870 in Philadelphia, PA. He died on Apr 15, 1928. His parents were Durbin Rinedoller and Anna Marie Thornley. Florence was the first wife of Robert. A lady named Hannah was his second. One child, Durbin William was an inmate in a foster home for orphans in 1920 according to the US Census. There were two other children, Robert Chappell and Margaret who married

In the US Census or 1900, a boarder Phillip Lentz was living with them and in 1920, a Joseph Harner was a boarder.

In 1900 Flornce was listed as living with her father William at Frankfurt Ave. Philadelphia, PA.

Paul, was correct on the earlier ancestors. The father of John Jacob Reinthaler Jr. was also named John Jacob came to America in 1749 and my Reinthaler ancestor came in 1751. I believe they were brothers but cannot prove this. My ancestor Joh Georg came from Simmozheim and the son of Hans Gerg Reinthaler.

That is all I have concerning the Chappell/Rinedoller relationship. Paul asked me about the change of spelling and I have no answer. Our descendanats took the surname of Rinedollar in my family, Reindollar in Northern Maryland who are related, and some Rhinedollars still living that I have not been able to connect to our lineage.

Thanks for sending the message and if you have other questions, please let me know.

In SERvice TO MAnkind,

Jack Rinedollar, a distant relative I believe

My uncle Paul Albert Rinedoller Jr posted in this thread back in 2000 about the Chappell/Rinedoller connection. And in regard to the last comment about, my uncle and I are descended from John Jacob Rinedoller who was born in the Philadelphia area in 1759, and my uncle has told me that his father came over from Germany in 1749...but the last name was changed at some point to Rinedoller. So, we are probably very distantly related with the Rinedollar line, if your line came over the same year.

Perhaps you are descended from an older or younger sibling of John Jacob?

William Henry Chappel, b. 1842 New York, d. 1910 Kansas

Better Way, Ottawa County, Kansas, June 9, 1910, page 7:
W.H. Chappel
William Henry Chappel was born in Stafford, Genesee county, New York, April 16, 1842, and died in Minneapolis, Kansas, June 6, 1910, at the age of 68 years, 1 month, 20 days.
He came to Caledonia, Ill., from New York, when he enlisted in the 95th Illinois Co. K., remaining 2 years, 10 months and receiving a hospital discharge.
He was married to Rosaltha M. Corning, April 30, 1867, they coming to Lindsey, Kansas, in 1871, settling on a farm in that vicinity.
To this union was born three girls, Alice, Kate and Edna, Kate dying in infancy. Mrs. Chappel died August 30, 1900.
He leaves to mourn his loss sisters, brothers, children and many friends.
___________________________________________________________
Mr. Chappel was a kindly man to meet and was one of the best posted men in the community. He was prominent in public life, in earlier days having held different positions of trust, which he never betrayed. Inquiry fails to find any instance where even a shade of dishonor ever marred his public or private life. To the writer of this last paragraph he was always kind and we esteemed him most highly. Funeral services are being held from the home this afternoon in charge of Rev. Geo. Clark of Ada.

Chappell/Andrews VA & MD >> MS >> Louisiana

Recently discovered another generation of ancestors and hoping someone knows who they are.

George Andrews married Coraceda/Corraceder/Coraseda Chappell in Warren Co. MS in 1832. They relocated to Caddo Co. Louisiana, and Coraceda died there before 1870.

Census info indicates Coraceda (Chappell) Andrews was born in Virginia abt 1814. George Andrews was born in Maryland abt. 1797.

From census information they had at least 7 children:
1. James E. J. (b. c. 1840 in MS) m. 1st 1867 in Caddo Par. LA to Colista Attaway; m. 2nd 1869 in Caddo Par. LA to Sally Pugh.
2. Assent C. (male b. c. 1842 in MS, d. in Civil War?)
3. Georgietta/Julia (b. c. 1845 in MS) Twin
4. Berseber Christiana (b.1845 in MS) Twin
5. George W. (b. 1848 in Caddo Par., LA)
6. Jesse C. (b. 1851 in Caddo Par., LA)
7. Crofford/Crawford (b. 1853 in Caddo Par. LA) m. 1st to unknown, m. 2nd in 1891 in DeSoto Par. LA to Virginia Campbell.

I've found next to nothing on any of these children.

Hoping for information on ancestry, children and descendants of Coraceda Chappell and husband, George Andrews.

Sandy Nigh
