in the Canadian Blackwatch regiment. We descend from Pierre
Charron and Catherine Pilot who married in 1665.

Thanks for the response Chris.

I did find that death record for Joseph but am not sure if his parents names are accurate. I have not been able to find a canadian marriage record for Louis Charon and Marie Beland, nor have I found a Joseph born to parents of that name.

The informant on the actual death certificate is a Charles Fridette, who stated Joseph's age at the time of his death was 60, which would mean he was born in 1852. All census record indicate he was born in 1854, but none give an actual birthdate. The Joseph Apollinaire I found was born in 1855 and lived in Lincoln, RI with his mom and siblings at the same time as Adelle and her family, then seems to disappear.

I think Joseph Apollinaire may be my great grandfather. He seemed to disappear from that family right around the time my great grandparents were married. I just need something to link my Joseph to this Joseph and cannot seem to find that link. I am totally stumped as to where to turn next to solve this mystery.

Looking for information on Joseph Apollinaire Charron born 1855 in Marieville Quebec to Antoine Charron and Adeline Felicite Giroux. Adeline moved her family to Lincoln, RI (1870's) following Antoine's death. Joseph's siblings were Marie, Pierre (Peter), Celina, Jacques, Azilda, Rose Anna, Delina, Victoria, Adelard Napoleon. I believe he is my great grandfather, and if so, he married Adele (Delia) Fournier in Attleboro, Ma. in 1883.

Thanks for the information. My Emma Charron was born June 10, 1872 in Prescott and married Vincent Jessmore about 1890
in Oswego county, New York.
So many families used the same names, it is easy for me to get confused.

Frederick's parents were Ignace Leduc and Louise Lefebvre. Ignace was born Âpril 13th, 1831 and Louise on May 10th, 1835. I have pictures of them from a website. Try to get on the Canadian Genealogy site and you will find the Leduc family. If you don't find the website, give me you e-mail address and I will send you the pictures at least.

Frederic Joseph Leduc and Emma Charron were married in Prescott, Leeds and Grenville United Counties, Ontario. He Was born in Sainte-Brigide-d'Iberville, le Haut-Richelieu (it means Upper Richelieu River), Qc and died on May 21st, 1953 in Holyoke, MA. A son was born named Oliva Leduc, born in Saint-Cesaire, Rouville Co., Qc. and died in 1976 in Chicopee, Hampden Co. U.S.A.

This is a different Napoleon, mine was naturalized in 1891 in Oswego county, New York. There are two different Sharrow families with brothers Joseph & Napoleon that were born in
Canada and came to central NY; Oneida, Onondaga & Oswego counties.

I think that one of Napoleon's wives was Alexima Rochon, born on Feb. 2nd, 1886 in Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette, Les Collines-de-l'Outaouais, Qc, she died on April 26th, 1908 with her three (3) children, they were Marie-Amanda Rochon, Joseph-Dollard Rochon and Joseph William Rochon.

On that day April 26th, 1908, there was a trageday in Notre-Dame-de-la Salette, a mud slide killing 37 persons, 19 persons were buried 2 days later and 18 bodies were never found.

Yes, I have a photo copy of Napoleon's social security application card and it has:
"Social Security Application form:
Napoleon Joseph Sharrow; address: 514 W. Dominick St., Rome, New York.
age last birthday 68; born January 12, 1869 in Alfred, Canada.
father - Louie Sharrow; mother Angelick Gardner.
White male; employeed by General Cable Corp. of Rome, New York.
dated May 10, 1937; Social Security # 069-07-7006"

Alfred is in Prescott, Ontario, Canada
Louis, and Napoleon with his three wives are buried in Rome, Oneida county, New York. I have records from the cemetery association.

LDS microfilm #1030064 which contained the marriages of Prescott,
Ontario from 1858 to 1869 and found the following record:
On 29 September 1861 Noe Charron married Ang... Desjardner; his parents: Louis Charron and
Pauline D'zthin[?], he was 18 years old and born in St Philomine; she was 19, born in St Theresa;
her parents Xavir Desjardner and Marie Obain; they were married in Alfred, Prescott, Ontario by
Rev. P. Bertrand; they both resided in Alfred.

Could Noe Charron and Angelique Desjardins have changed their names to Louis Charron (Sharrow) and to Angelique Gardner. Because I have Noe and Angelique with children named Napoleon (1868), Joseph, Camille (1874) Emma, Celina, Xavier, Delphis, all born in Alfred, Prescott, Ontario.

I have Daniel CHARRON dit LAFERRIÈRE & his parents in my genealogy files. According to the BMS2000, version 9, Daniel was born & baptized in St-Georges parish, Cacouna, Rivière-du-Loup County, QC. Godparents: Germain SOUCI, Constance CÔTÉ. In the BMS2000 baptism registry, it is noted that the child is from L'Isle-Verte, QC. The child & his father are listed as LAFERRIÈRE.

I am trying to find the birth/baptism record for Daniel Charron. His parents (named in his marriage record from L'Isle Verte (St-Jean-Baptiste)) were Pierre Charron dit Laferriere and Marie Anne Lebel. All census records that I could find and birth records for Daniel's siblings show the family living in L'Isle Verte. Daniel's birth is listed as 1833-1836 in the '51, '71, '81 and '91 census.

Any help would be very welcome.

These are my gggrandparents. I am a descendant of Camille born April 15, 1874 in Alfred, Prescott, Ontario and died Dec 5, 1935 in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York.
Brother Napoleon lived in Rome, Oneida, New York;
he had three wives and one son. Napoleon and his father
Louis are buried in the Rome Cemetery. I have Napoleon's social security application form and information sent to me by the Cemetery Assoc. where they are buried.
Would love to exchange information. I have joined the Charron Association in Canada and for a while corresponded
with cousin Gerald Charon in Canada; but he died in 2010.

The first Charron came to New France today is known as Canada in the 16 hundreds and settled in the Quebec are and when the English beat the French on the plains of Abraham many french left for Louisianan which was french territory and some like your family went to the northern states they changed their names to sound like Americans so they could get work and raise up a family. The Charron family came to New France in the 16 hundreds Pierre or Peter in English. The Sharrow family is from that line Craig S harrow has all the information on that line.

I am in Oswego NY. I have traced my family back to Pierre Charron 1600's. His parents were Pierre and Judith Martin Charron.On Oct 19,1665 he married Catherine Pilliat. She was the daughter of Peter and Marguerite Moceluiet Pilliat. Then I hit a dead end until 1836 with a melina Bousquet.

My father's name was Rene Joseph Proulx He was born in Moon Hill Saskatchwan. his Father's name was Jean Baptist Proulx, His Mother's Name was Marie Louise Ouelette. My Father Rene Married Florilda Marquis from Marceline Saskatchwan, Her Parents were Theador Marquis and Bertha Reneault. Hi Shari: I have been researching more on Vincent Charron,I checked Birth, marriage death census and other family trees. I came up with Vincent Charron son of Pierre Charron and Marie Francois Paquet married Zoe Charron Feb 2, 1830 daughter of Louis Charron and Angelique Pigeon.Guess he married his cousin. They had 6 children-Marcel - Emilien - Andre - Omesime,Felix and Placide Imbeline. I hope my French translations are correct.

Something appears scrambled here. Before I put more time into this, I'd feel better if you gave me the child of Cyprien Charron and Salome Belanger (and who he or she married and where)who you are tracing so I can duplicate your research to this point.

In the St-Martin de Laval parish register, on the 25th of July 1837, I find the marriage of:
Cyprien CHARRON, legal age son of the deceased Louis CHARRON and of Marie Angelique PIGEON, and
Rosalie Taillefer, minor daughter of Jean Baptiste TAILLEFER and Marie-Claire NADEAU.
Witnesses: Felix CHARRON, brother of the groom, Jean-Baptiste TAILLEFER, father of the bride, and VINCENT CHARRON, "and other relatives."
