Thérèse Marie BEFFEYTE était la fille de Marie Alfred BEFFEYTE né le 28/06/1849 à Besançon dans le Doubs 25 il était le fils de Jean Marie BEFFEYTE + le 11/09/1870 Besançon et de Marie CHEVASSU + le 07/08/1866, et de Marguerite COSTECÈQUE née le 22/08/1849 à Nalzen en Ariège 09 fille de François COSTOSEQUE et de Claire COSTOSEQUE.

Marguerite COSTECEQUE X 13/04/1875 Sète Marie Alfred BEFFEYTE eurent au moins :
- Augustine COSTECEQUE née le 24/03/1871 Montpellier dans l'Hérault 34, + le 15/06/1872 à Sète dans l'Hérault 34. Je pense que cette dernière était bien la fille de Marie Alfred.
- Marie COSTECEQUE née le 30/10/1872 Sète, reconnue par ses parents lors de leur X en 1875, l'enfant prendra alors le nom de BEFFEYTE.

I have information on the Chevrier family from Montreal. My grandfather Emile Chevrier was born on Iles-de-la Madeleine. His family came from France to Montreal. I have received your message and unfortunately I was not abled to find any of the names you have mentionned.

I am still working on the chevrier side of the family.My mother is the Lebrun side of the family.

My great-grandparents ' s names are :Chevrier ; Gauthier ; bertrand ; Leduc ; Lebrun ; Desilets ; lesieur ; and Sigman.

I have been able to trace all of them some distance in the past ( some more than other).

I would be glad to share with you any information I have with regard to these names.All of them have been in Canada for well over one hundred years.

Thank you for replying to my query.The information you provided is the same as what I have except for the date of birth.I have Francois being born in 1695 and married to Marie Anne Gibault on 5 Jun 1728.Also I have him dying in Vercheres on 21 Aug 1762.

As an aside I have (unverified) Francois's grandfather to be Jean Chevrier married to Francoise Delam from Bugey Bourgogne France.No other info on those two.

I am interested and would appreciate any information on the chevriers.My e-mail is pchevrier1@shaw.ca.

I have worked on a Chevrier here in Sorel and their ancestor is François Chevrier, bor 5-06-1728, married to Marie-Anne Gibault his parents are Jean and Marie Chovaux. He was born in St-Germain L'Auxerron, Paris France. He came to Montreal and his son François came to Verchères and a descendant François Chevrier married to Marie-Anne Gravel came to Sorel, Québec and they have many descendants here. Pierre, have you ever had any luck in finding out about your CHEVRIER family? I have the following: (great grandparents)

Pierre CHEVRIER and Therese Marie BEFFEYTE (not married but had lived together with their daughter). Pierre supposedly had family in France (wife and children?) but chose to live with Therese in Algiers. Both lived in Algiers until 1932 or so, when Pierre CHEVRIER died and Therese BEFFEYTE came to the US to be with her daughter and my mother.

Parents: Jean-Pierre CHEVRIER, Francoise DURAND

Therese: b. 13 Oct 1875 Cette, Herault, France
Parents: Marie-Alfred BEFFEYTE (1849-?), Marguerite COSTESECQUE (1849-?)

I would be interested in if it is possible to obtain records from their time in Algiers or find out about their families in France. Originally Pierre was in the French army (Zouaves) and apparently chose to stay in Algiers once he was out of the army. (I have army records for several of these men and that is how I go this information, plus word of mouth of my mother).

Any help or suggestions appreciated!

I am looking for the ancestry of francois chevrier who was married 5 jan 1728 to marie anne gibault.His parents are listed as jean chevrier and marie chovaux and, also jean chevrier and francoise delam.Could someone clarify the situation and possibly provide info as to further pedegree.
