Hi. Great to hear from you. Joseph W Chipp's sister - Alice Sarah Chipp (mar Hills) was my grandmother. Alice migrated to Australia with her husband Edward R B Hills about 1922. Alice had no contact with her family until after Edward died. We are not sure why Alice had no contact. After Edward's death Alice wrote to her sister (Mary?) who sent some photos of their family. I have the photos with names on the back but do not know who they are. Maybe you can help me put the pieces together. My email is val_dawson@hotmail.com Val

Eddie, so good to have heard from you. Claude Marion Chipp (my grandfather) was the brother of your father, Herman. I have an old family photo of all of the Francis and Ova Chipp family together, with your father, Herman as a youngster. I got to meet your brother, Alan, and his wife, Virginia, and their son James, at the Chipp/ Christie family reunion a few years back as Shaver Lake California. In fact, I have previously emailed your wife about the Chipp geneology, etc. I have a lot of Chipp history I would be more than willing to share. Just let me know what I could help you with.
Mary Ann (Chipp) Patrick

Frank C.or William Francis Chipp

On the 1880 White Oak Twp., Harrison Co., Missouri, HH 77, I find Francis Chipp along with brothers Tammage and George C. They are living with the John Verden family and are listed as his brothers-in-law. Francis is 20 years old, born in MO.
In Marriages Records of Harrison Co., MO is listed Frank C. Chipp married Nancy E. Foster, January 25, 1872.
On the 1900 White Oak Twp., Harrison Co., MO, HH 237 is listed William F. Chipp, age 48, month and year of birth September 1851, born Indiana. Wife, Nancy E. age 46, month and year of birth, October 1853. Years of marriage, 28.
Tombstone photo says W. F. Chipp 1852-1926-Nancy E. 1852-1938.
I am trying to figure out whether the Frank C. Chipp is the same as William Francis Chipp. Some of the dates do not add up.
Does anyone have the answer to this or any info on the Chipp family?
Thanks, Judy

my grandmother, Alleyne Chipp Reed was the daughter of Bert Chipp and Eva (Christie) Chipp. Alleyne moved to Los Angeles in the early 40's. The names Helen and Herman Chipp sound familiar to me. I'll try to ask my mother (Alleyne's daughter) about them. As they were transplants...it would not be unusual for my grandmother to have had contact with them.

My great-grandfather was Bert Chipp. My mother's mother was his only daughter. He married Eva Louisa Christie. His sister is who we called Aunt Edna. Aunt Enda was a Chipp who married a Christie. She died a few years ago in Santa Maria, California. The Chipps and Christies were big families in town, so it makes sense that a couple of them would marry. We joke and call them Chipps-off-the-old-Christies. My mother may know a little about Claud. Or, we may have some pictures. (of course, there were so many children 9, i think, i do not know which one Claud was.)

But, you and I are definately related.

Claud Marion Chipp/ New Hampton, Missouri

I am researching my grandfather's line to no avail. His name was Claud Marion Chipp. Father's name Francis, mother's name Ada. They lived in New Hampton, Missouri. He had 5 siblings: Carl, Burt, Herman, Edna (Christy), and Ida (Young). He played in the city band. He married Verda Lou Whiteley. They had one son, Robert Dwaine Chipp, my father. I can not find any info on Claud's parents or grandparents. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mary Ann Patrick

Relatives of George Susie Chipp (MO.-to-CA)

Does anyone remember George Susie Chipp
from New Hampton, Mo. - They moved to southern California in the 1930's, settled in So. Pasadena. Had two children: a son, Herschel, and a daughter, Helen. George had a brother named Herman, who also lived in southern California in the 1950's-'60's, who had several sons. Would be interested in hearing from you. Sincerely, Dennis B. Chipp
