I am not a member of the Chittick family, but have been clearing out some research papers created by Marion Keffer. She had copied vital records, census info, newspaper notes etc on to slips of paper. There is a stack just over an inch in height, some marked 'duplicate'. I will send them to the first person who is willing to pay the postage to get them.

Samples:
Sylvia Chittick of Petrolia m Herbert A Wever, Sarnia - Sarnia Observer, Sep 3, 1909

Chittick, Archibald 1869-1948; w Florence Parkinson 1877-1964 - Prospect Hill Cemetery

Christopher Chittick b 1830 s/o George [Mary Eligan] = Mary Jane Fields Slack from Ire c1855 --> Perth co ... from Gloria Shiflett

I had to smile when I read your reference to Gavin/George Chittick. This is a very popular name in my family. I have a brother, Gavin Chittick born in Saylesville, RI, 11/25/26, currently living in Asheville, NC. I had an uncle, Gavin Chittick born 4/01/1899, in Paisley, Scotland, numerous cousins by the same name and a grandfather, Gavin Chittick born 1866 in Scotland, Paisley or Port Glasgow, and a gggrandfather, Gavin Chittick probably born in the 1820's in either Scotland or Ireland - this is still being searched.
I'm sure there is some long ago relationship. By the way, some of my grandfathers papers are spelled Chittock. Possibly the Gavin Chittick who married Margaret Graham is the connection.

Looking for family of my Gr-Gr Grandmother, Elizabeth Jane Chittick, was born in Bobcaygeon, Upper Canada,September 24, 1844. She married John Johnston Patterson, born in Aughnaskeagh, County Down, Ulster, Northern Ireland,on November 11, 1844. They moved to Iowa at some point, where his family lived and had 6 children, one of them my gr-grandmother, Helen Gertrude Patterson, born August 14, 1884 in Lemars, Iowa. I have hit a brick wall in trying to trace back this name, Chittick.
I have been able to verify through my gr-aunts and gr-uncles and through Family Tree Maker that my information regarding them is correct so far.
The Patterson name has been very easy to trace, but I have no idea where John and Elizabeth met and where her family came from. I am willing to share my family file and I have pictures of Elizabeth and John.
Any info or leads at all would lift my spirits!
