Jacob Chrisman's role in the Am Rev

I am trying to link Jacob 1, 2, or 3 (settled with Jost Hite in Shennadoah Valley) and their connection with the Am Rev. I have heard Jacob's house was used as a hospital. I have also heard Jacob held some rank and made contributions to the colonialists in the form of food, hourses, and related goods. I have also heard Jacob held a rank in the Virginia mitilia. However, I cannot find anything that can be used to document these claims. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks

Joe CHRISMAN Drowns 1905 OK
09-17-1905
p.3/14

ONE DROWNED IN CLEAR CREEK FLOOD

PAWHUSKA, Okla., Sept.16-(Special)-

The body of Joe Chrisman, who was drowned in Clear Creek
Wednesday was found Thursday washed high on the banks of
the creek. The team of mules which Chrisman was driving
was also drowned. Chrisman was a cowboy. He had been
in Osage county only a few weeks and had been temporarily
employed on several ranches in the county. Being a stranger
in the community, he apparently did not realize the danger
of attempting to ford Clear creek while it was at flood
stage.

The high waters in Clear creek and Bird creek have receded.
The basins of the creeks are strewn with the wreckage of
farm house and crops. No passenger trains are being operated
through Pawhuska, owing to washouts on the two railroads,
and there probably will be no train service for a week. The
Midland Valley railroad bridge over Bird creek east of
Pawhuska was washed out by the floods. Every wagon bridge in
the county except three stone bridges near Pawhuska was
destroyed by the floods which came down the creeks Wednesday.
Telegraph and telelphone service out of Pawhuska has been
restored.

***posted for genealogical purposes only; no relation***

Looking for Michigan Chrismans, families originally from Ellisburg, NY area.

I'm looking for Frederick Chrisman's (b.1874) sons (or their families) who moved from the Watertown-Ellisburg area of Jefferson Co., NY to Pontiac, MI. Their names were Merle (b.1886), Ray[mond] (b.1887), and Carl (b.1889). Their sister Ruth Chrisman (b.1905, my grandmother) may have come to MI to have a child in 1925 (my father) and took the boy back to NY a year later.

I'm trying to find out if Ruth really came to MI and if she really married James Roach while there or if she actually had an illegitimate child by a man named James Perry.

James Roach was b.1895 NY, lived in Jersey City before moving to MI; was in the Army & stationed at Madison Barracks near Watertown, had a twin brother killed overseas in WWI, and both parents were born in Ireland.

James Perry, on the other hand, of unknown birthdate or place, apparently was an alcoholic that Ruth had been seen "running around" with. This is hearsay that I just heard the other day from one elderly, distant relative I had contacted in my research on Ruth. I don't even know if this man exsisted but I can't rule it out completely because I haven't been able to produce documentation on the stuff my grandmother Ruth told me about marrying James Roach.

Is there anyone left alive to ask? Is anyone familiar with a family story or secret about this? Is anyone willing to do some checking for me?

If Ruth Chrisman was married to James Roach there should be a record of it. It was in a judges chambers in Detroit sometime in 1925. A birth record for the boy child (James) should be on one of these dates: January 25 or October 25 in either 1925, 1926 or 1927. If Ruth was not married, the boy's surname should be Chrisman. (Believe me, the reasons for the multiple dates would make this story longer and much more confusing than it already is!)

Please reply to this message and I'll get the email.
Thanks.
Henry and Elizabeth (Yeager) Chrisman of Chester, PA

I'm looking for info on my great-great-great-great grandparents, both from Chester Co., PA. Their son, John Chrisman, emigrated with his brother Jessie to Tracy, California in the 1860's (well, they got to California in 1859), and there's even a Chrisman road named after John in that city. I know just about everything after they got to California, but I have little to no info about their family back in Chester Co.

I did find a great bio of John at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ca/state1/biographies/jchrisman...., which talks about him attending public school in Phoenixville, PA, and I was able to find an Elizabeth Crisman (b. 1803) living in that town during the 1880 census. Seems like that might be John's mother, but that's all I have. I can't find any mention of Henry Chrisman in the census, but then again John and his family were listed as "Chrismen" in the 1880 census, even though they consistently spelled their name "Chrisman".

Anyway, if anyone has a direction to send me in, that would be great. Thanks!

Priscilla Chrisman married Charles Wesley Bibbins in 1877. It is possible that by 1900 they were divorced. I am wondering if anyone has this information and if she remarried what her other name was?

Thank you in advance.

Scott? Could this be the same as an Andrew J. Scott who is probably the son of one or two families in Greensboro/Guilford County? Andrew was born in Greensboro in 1844, and eventually made his way into Georgia by 1860, where he fought in the Civil War, married, and raised a family. His ancestry is a mystery to me........

I am trying to find out where my family came from. My father says the Chrisman name is of a German/Jewish descent. If anyone could give me some ideas where to begin or any information on the Chrisman family would be appreciated. My gggrandfather was Josiah Chrisman b:8-7-1817 d:1-7-1899 I don't know where he was born, he died in Virgil,NY. I believe his father was William Chrisman b:9-9-1784 d:2-21-1853. I have not been able to confirm that William is Josiah's father, also I don't believe that William's death date is correct. Any info will help
