Deanne M. Christiansen, M.D., age 66, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011, at UPMC Hamot. Deanne was born in Erie on August 20, 1945, the daughter of the late Edna Christiansen. She graduated from Fort LeBoeuf High School and attended Muhlenberg College, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She continued her education at Michigan State University, graduating with a Master's Degree in the Biological Sciences. After working as a Pulmonary Technologist for ten years in the Philadelphia area, she attended medical school at St. George's University in Grenada, followed by a Residency in Psychiatry at the University at Buffalo. Although Dr. Christiansen lived in many different places while pursuing her education, she spent much of her life in Summit Township and, recently, had enjoyed the time she spent as a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living. Dr. Christiansen was a Psychiatrist who devoted her life to helping others through her work. She had been associated with the Sarah Reed Children's Center, Hamot Medical Center, Abraxas, and the Achievement Center, along with several other organizations. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two aunts, Ingeborg and Winifred Christiansen, and two uncles, Elmer and Raymond Christiansen. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Mancini.
Burnell A. Christiansen, born 1909, son of Peter/Anna, lived Chicago

I have an original 5”x7” Cabinet Card photograph of “Burnell A. Christiansen – three months old”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in Chicago in early 1910.

I found “Burnell A. Christiansen” in the 1910 Chicago census, age 5 months old, son of Peter A. and Anna A. Christiansen. SSDI shows that Burnell was born 26 Oct 1909 and died 15 Oct 1998.

At the same time I obtained Burnell’s photo, I was given another Christiansen photo – the wedding photo of Eli and Harriet Christiansen. Both photos were taken by the Edward Fox Studio on Milwaukkee Ave., Chicago. The wedding photo appears to have been taken about the same time as Burnell’s photo, and Eli and Harriet look to be in their early to mid 20s. I was not able to locate them together in any censuses in Chicago, however there is an Eli Christiansen in the 1920 Chicago census, age 35, but his wife’s name is given as Charlotte, age 36.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to this Christiansen family.

I have an old picture taken about 1907 of 3 children, two of the children are my grandmother (Eulia Hansen b:1900 in Iowa) and her brother (Christian Cornelius Hansen). The third child in the picture is a little girl about 4 years old, the back of the picture says "cousin Loris Christiansen".
Eulia and Chris' father is Ernest Alfred Hansen b:1858 in Denmark and their mother is Anna Christiansen b:1872 in Denmark. Ernest and Anna were married in 1896 in Marshalltown, Iowa, then settled in Fresno California about 1905. I know that Anna had a brother Christian J. Christiansen b:1875 in Denmark, Chris also lived in Marshalltown, Iowa, and Fresno/Merced California, and later Santa Cruz, California. I believe he was married to Leona Hansen (born Iowa), and had a son Elmer E. Christiansen b:1914 in Fresno, California. So, it seems likely that Anna had another brother who would be Loris' father. Your message mentioned a "Loris Christiansen",I am hoping that we may have a possible match because Loris is an unusual name. Did you ever try to have the notes translated? There is a free online translator called babelfish, that can translate text.

Hi, cousin. This is Becky. I just saw your message now 3 years later. I'll wait and see if you reply, hope you do!
Anyway, in case you get this, now that google is digitizing books, I have found some of grandpa's patents, along with a Gopher U of M student yearbook, listing Marinus as a law student in 1906. Years ago I searched for his alumni info from the U and they said they couldn't find him. Good thing we now have more digitized books thanks to Google :)

Laura,
I'm sure there are many people who would be happy to help you, but a little more information would be needed. Anything at all - such as a guess as to birth/death year for any of them. It doesn't need to be exact, just a guess as to which decade. And even the area of the country where they lived would help. If you don't know the state, do you know whether they lived on the east coast, west coast,in the midwest, or the south? (Where were their descendants born?) Did John have siblings? Post a little more info and see if you don't get a better response.

J Murphy

Hi
I found your post on Rootsweb. I also have Christiansen/Jensen/Hansen in my family tree although mine came from Moss in Norway. Edvard (illegitimate) his mothers name was Ann Marie Olsdatter born about 1803 in Sweden. Edvards fathers name was Hans Jensen (Kjos), I suppose that is where the Hansen came from. Edvard had a stepsister named Inger Andrea Erichsen (also illegitimate)her fathers name was Erich Erichsen. Inger had 2 children Edvin Christiansen (illegitimate)fathers name Hans Christian Olsen, in 1860 they had another child - a daughter named Josephine Olava Christiansen. In 1860 Inger and Erich married.
Does any of these names match yours

My Grandfather was the Marinus Jacob Christian Nyborg you mention in your posting. He married Mathilda Kesting. One of their children was Jeanne. She married my father, Frank Bonello. I never knew Marinus Nyborg because he died a few years before I was born.
