Looking for all Clagues

Hi there

Are there any ancestors out there from a line in My family. The surname is Clague and were from the Laxey and Lonan area of the Isle of Man. A large number of the family members left the Island when the minig community wound down in the late 1800' and early 1900's.

Any information would be gratefully received!

Isabella Jane Clague married William Henry Bates. She was born in 1854 we think and died in 1908. Any more info would be appreciated.

Greetings. I've developed an interest in my family history after recently working on a Family History book for a client of mine (I am a graphic designer).

I am from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and there is a small clan of Clagues that reside here. I thought to post a message on this board to see where other Clagues reside in this country, and would be curious to see the family connection (if any).

I would also be curious to hear from any Clagues with relation to Edward Clague, who now resides in Winnipeg. I know that several generations ago, we immigrated here from the Isle of Man.

Very curious and eager to learn more!!! Thanks for any info.

Clague's b. Hensingham

In my line I have William T. Clague( known as Wren) who was born in 1893 at Hensingham, he had a brother J.J.T. Clague b.1891, their Father was Louis b.1862 on the I.O.M, mother was Margaret Ann Thompson b.1872. Are there any relations out there.

Edward Clague b. Isle of Man abt 1880, married Mary E. Rome, they later immigrated to Ontario Canada where they are buried. Looking for parents of Edward.

Daniel Clague

Looking for Donna and Dana Clague

I am looking for cousins of mine, Donna Clague, b. abt 1945, and Dana Clague, b. abt. 1949. Their father was William J. Clague, b. 1919, Cleveland, OH.

William's parents were John James Clague, b. 1888, Isle of Man, and Helen Margaret Kuhn, b. 1890, Cleveland, OH.

Helen Margaret Kuhn's sister, Marion, was my grandmother. Marion married William Thompson. Their daughter, Marion, was my mother.

My great-great grandmother was Catherine Clague, daughter of Thomas & Catherine (Corlett) Clague. She was born ca 1823-24 in Castletown, IOM. Her father was a seaman. Catherine's family had connections to Malew and Lezayre, IOM. She married John Bolton 22 Mar 1851 in Malew. (I think someone else mentioned a Clague settling in Bolton, England, although I have not been able to tie my Bolton's into the area yet.) John was a teacher from England, although Catherine was unable to write her name. The couple settled in the Kendal, Westmoreland area of England, where they raised their family. Two of their sons, Edward & John eventually came to the US with Edward settling in Walworth Co., WI and his brother, John, in Michigan. John and Edward had dark curly hair and blue eyes rather than the red hair of which some of you have spoken.
Would like to hear from anyone who may connect with my Clague line.

Looking for information on Ellinor Clague from IOM who married Joseph Teare, also of Isle of Man about 1899. She sailed to USA in 1901, through NY to Ishpeming, Michigan. She had 2 children, Robert Edward and Eva.

Emily Jane Clague

My gr.gr.grandmother was Emily Clague she was born May 31, 1862 at Poor Towne, Isle of Man Her father was Thomas Clague(Clegg) and mother was Jene Gill. Emily was married to John Ormond. She died in July, 1933 in Hibbing Minnesota. Does any of this match with anyone.
