I would like to contact anyone related to John and Sarah Cline McCormick. John was born in Upper Mount Bethel, Northampton County PA in 1819 and Sarah in Shamokin, Northumberland County PA in 1817. They lived in Columbia County and Lycoming County PA and are buried in Salladasburg, Lycoming County PA. From 1839-1855 they had several children including William, Mary, Amanda, Sarah, and Amelia. John's father was Hector McCormick b. Upper Mount Bethel in 1795 d Delaware Township, Northumberland County PA. I believe they also lived in Mifflin Township and in the Newberry neighborhood in Harrisburg PA.

I was born in Grayson County Ky on Dec. 31, 1960.
My birthname was Martha Ellen Cline. My father was Clayton
Cline,my mother was Susan Elizabeth Downs Cline. His family
lived in Caneyville, Ky. Her family resided in Leitchfield or Anneta Ky. My Grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Cline
or (Jeff) my Grandmother was Hallie Miller Cline.
The only other thing I have found out was that my Greatgrandfather was Pete Cline.
I am very interested to find out about this side of my family.

Martha Johnson Cline was married to Charles Cline he was lndian. They are my great-grandparents My grandparents were Albert Melvin & Clydia Marie Cline Wright. They are buried at Rose Hill Cemetary in Ashland Ky. Three of their children are also buried there Freelin Hugh Wright, Wilma Cathern Wright Terry, Albert Melvin & Dorothy Parson Wright Jr. their 4th child is buried in Ohio Martha Joyce Wright Ball. Aunt Eva Jewell Crance (sister to Ruby, Ruth & Clydia) is buried at Olive hill cemetary.

Looking for information on Shirley Maxine or Maxine Shirley Cline born about 1925, in Grafton, WV. Her husband was Robert Getz. They had two sons. I think their names were Richard and Robert, not sure. I know they lived in Illinois and Florida, but could have also lived in other states. Also, looking for information for her sister Grace Cline, born approximately 1909. She was married to a Ed Young. They had no children. They lived in Nevada, California, and Florida. I am helping someone out research their Cline Ancestry. She is descended from Abraham Cline (1797 PA/MD- ~1880Bracken KY) & Catherine Dillman, via James Conrad Cline (1833KY - ?) & Mary Moore (1834 - ?), then John Dillman Cline (1856-1910) & Amanda Jane “Jennie” Houston, then Viola Sally Cline (1885-1988).
The person says her Grandmother Viola Sally Cline Case tells a story from many years ago (prob 1980's or earlier) that someone contacted either a brother of her Grandmother or one of her sons and said his name had come up on a Cline family Genealogy that took the line through PA to NJ and eventually back into Germany. Talked about the name change from Klein to Cline, etc. And the Uncle or Great Uncle said he was not interested and hung up. The Grandmother was furious as she was very interested in family history!
I am trying to find someone who knows of a Genealogy that might fit the above story. Thanks!

Cline Cemetery Bracken Co

Transcriptions are on Find-A-Grave. But don't seem to be Pictures. Bracken County Historical Society published a book on Burial Transcriptions in 1999 so certainly someone transcribed the Cline Cemetery before it was destroyed.

Thank you so much. Where did you find your information. I have been told that the Cline Cemetery no longer exists. It seems that cattle broke down the fence around the little cemetery and when the person plowing did not know about the cemetery and plowed it all under. I am looking for any recorded proof on Laura and her parents. I do have the US censuses but I don't have any proof that she is the Laura who was born, married and died that is my great-great grandmother. Do you need the US census records?

Good news! I have found where Laura is buried, and she is the daughter of Abraham and Catherine (my gggg grandparents), and is buried next to them in a small cemetery called the Cline Cemetery in Bracken County Kentucky. She did indeed pass away in 1884, on July 2nd.

Sorry this took so long. Margaret Cline was the mother of Grant Cline who resided on West High Street in London during the 40's and 50's. She married James Cleland who was a minister in Newport Ohio, both having lost their spouse. James was also a Township Trustee for Newport, Ohio. He had a son James. Margaret had Grant and Christian "Jap" Cline of Bakersfield, CA and Mary Cline, of Unionville Center, OH. The Clines were from Wapakoneta, OH and Margaret's husband was a minister there also. My connection is to Grant Cline, my great-grandfather.

We meet again. Yes Joshua married to Ann Wilsey had 3 boys: Charles H.,b. 1855 (my gggrandfather), d. bet 1895-99 In Pa., Daniel b.1857 d.1862, and Braizer Wilsey b. 1863 d,1930 in Utica, OH. Joshua died bet 1900-10 either in Greenfield, Ind or Utica, Oh. Ann is buried in Massillon, Oh., with Brazier and wife Lillian. Brazier, a glass cutter had 2 children. Charles H., also a glass cutter, had 7 children, 3 of his sons where glass cutters that worked around Pgh, Sharon, New Kensington, Pa, and moved to Shreveport, LA.

I am also looking for information on Clines from N.J. that were in the Glass Industry. Mine is a Joshua b. 1833 married to Ann Wilsey, and I don't know who his father is. This Joshua and his decendents were glass cutters, that worked in Pgh., & New Castle, Pa., Greenfield, Ind., and Utica, Oh. Seemed to move where there was glass work. I am wondering if your Joshua is the father of my Joshua.

my ggrandfather was Joshua Cline married to Ann Wisey. He was born in 1833. He was born in the Burlington, N.J. area, he also came from a family of glass blowers. He was a glass cutter and moved to Pa, Indiana, and Ohio. Do you think there is a relation of some sort?

NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Janice Taylor Cline, age 84, of North Tazewell, Va., died Friday, January 27, 2012 at her home. Born July 27, 1927 at North Tazewell, Va., she was a daughter of the late Victor and Fannie Edmonds Taylor. She was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cline was a longtime employee of the former A-Mart Store at North Tazewell, Va. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking and quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ray Cline; four brothers, J.D. Taylor, Jack Taylor, Wiley Taylor, and her twin brother, Julian Taylor.

Survivors include one son, Curtis Cline and wife, Debbie of Radford, Va.; two daughters, Teresa Sparks and husband, Jonah of Tazewell, Va. and Kathy Walk of North Tazewell, Va.; two brothers, Dennis Taylor and wife, Rachel of Annandale, Va. and Don Taylor and wife, Madeline of Pass Christian, Miss.; six grandchildren, Nick Cline, Allison Cline, Stephanie Saylor and husband, Michael, Amy Wingo and husband, Shawn, Rebecca Parker and husband, Joseph, and Bridget Walk; ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with the Reverend Jack Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. Pallbearers will be Mike Saylor, Nick Cline, Shawn Wingo, Joe Parker, Robbie Baber, and Opie Brooks.

I believe that I may have responded to you in the past...but her goes again...My great grandfather Henry B and gr.grandmother Emma Jane Raymond are connected to William Henry Cline who was born in N.Y. Henry and his first wife Hattie Lewis were born in N.Y. and married there. Henry B. died in Chicago on January 2, 1913. His mother Phidella Murray and her mother Lucy Hanks were both born in Vermont. Who are the Plattsburgh Clines?

Dear Phyllis, I have posted my research on Martin Cline on line. I am no longer working on that line but still have all the documentation that I gathered and would love to turn it over to a family member. I was able to determine that they were a different line than my line from Wythe County Virginia. One of the things that you mention is Martin's moving back and forth fron Allen to Sumner. This was not him moving but the state lines moving under his feet. He lived in the disputed area between Kentucky and Tennessee. I amassed a large group of interrelated researchers for this family. I am so happy that someone will undertake this large project. I am related to the Clines in Allen County (also the Mayhews and Abshurs). The farthest I can reach is Martin Cline who was born in NC, moved to Sumner Co., TN and then to Allen Co. The other trees in this family all have copied "information" from someone with a sense of humor. They have his "parents" listed who had been dead for some time before Martin was born. I sent messages to these tree owners until I got bored.

The best I can tell, Martin was supposed to have been born in Pennsylvania, Somerset, Pennsylvania (I am not so sure about that). He moved to NC where his children Katherine, Michael, John and Adam were born. Adam stated that when he was about 14 the family moved to Allen Co. They lived in Sumner Co, TN in between.

I'm not sure if this is the Daisy you are looking for, but I found a marriage license for a Grace Merwarth, age 17,to a Archie E Brotzman, age 19. Marriage was Oct 9, 1934 in Easton PA.
Grace's information gives father as Albert Merwarth, a florist living in Easton PA. Mother is Daisy Merwarth, maiden name Daisy Kline, a housewife living in Easton.
License shows both Albert, Daisy and Grace were born in PA.

Lula Bell Cline Bailey, 78, of Baisden, went home to be with her Lordand Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 10, 2009, from her daughter’s home at Varney.

Born on April 15, 1931 at Baisden, she was the daughter of the late Johnce and Allie Cline Cline.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Zachary Jennings and Johnson “Biggon” Bailey; three brothers: Bill B., Hoover, and Roosevelt Cline; and two sisters: Darkis Burney and GenevaLester.

Lula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a retired school bus driver with the Mingo County Board of Education; and she was a Born Again Christian of the Baptist Faith. She will always be remembered for her loving heart and her sweet smile. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are: her loving husband of63 years, Herman Bailey of Baisden; her loving daughter, Etta Jo Bailey Edminston of Varney; her two beloved sons: Dexter (Barbara) Baileyof Baisden and Rusty Bailey of Gilbert; her three sisters: Chloe Burgess of Baisden, Ms. Lona Blankenship of Hampden, and Corrina (Denvil)Riffe of Ikes Fork; her seven precious grandchildren: April (Scot) Perry of Baisden, Tommy Ryan May of Belfry KY, D. Herman Luther Bailey, 84 of Varney, formerly of Baisden, went home tobe with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join his loved oneswaiting for him in heaven, on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, from his residence.
Born on May 6, 1926, at Iaeger, he was the son of the late Susie DaleBailey.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lula Bell Cline Bailey; two sons: Zachary Jennings and Johnson “Biggon” Bailey; two brothers: Dale D. and Homer Bailey; and one sister, Marie Cassidy.
Herman was a loving husband, Daddy, and Papaw. He was a disabled coalminer, a US Navy Veteran of WWII; and a born again Christian, who bore the testimony of Jesus. He was an avid traveler, with extensive travels in Central America, and he loved Bluegrass music. He loved spending time with his wonderful family and friends, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A special thank you to his two wonderful caregivers: Terri Fields and Penny Clay.
Friends may gather with the family at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Friday, November 12th from 6to 9 pmwith a special service at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 13th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Mitchell officiating.
Military grave rite services will be performed by the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #141 of Belfry, KY.
Burial will follow in the Lester Cemetery at Baisden.
He will be carried to his final resting place by his sons and grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Gary Wayne Blankenship, Rex Allen Cline, Cody Cline, and Michael Cline.
He is gone from our sight but never from our hearts.

I am directly related to Lula Cline as she is my grandmothers sister. I have a lot of info on the Cline side of that line, but do not have anything on the Bailey side as no one can tell me about Herman, as both Herman and Lula are not dead. Josephine Cline is my great-grandmother, and the daughter of Christian Christopher Cline. I guess that makes us some sort of cousins. Do you have any information on where Christian was born or his father's name. I can't seem to get further back than him in the Cline family tree.

Ohio Clines & Hutchinsons

I'm trying to find out who the parents of Nancy Hutchinson were. She was born about 1836 in Ohio and married Henry Cline about 1856. They lived in Monroe County in 1860. Amanda is living with Elias and Nancy Hutchinson Cline in 1850. Nancy is age 27 and Amanda is 15. Perhaps they were sisters or cousins. Thanks for any help.

I have a copy of my Nancy Ellen Joy Bailey's death certificate from Boulder, Boulder, Colorado that says her father was William Joy and Mother Nancy Ellen Cline. I'd be willing to send you a copy of that document but today I'm leaving for Texas and won't back in Oregon until the day before Thanksgiving. Send me the address where you want it sent to and I'll copy my copy and send you the document.
