Looking for information about Lillian Cochran, b. Dec 1900, married Marcus Day in 1917, died in 1921. Living in St. Lucie County, Fl in 1920. Can not locate her on 1910 census. There is a marriage record from 1917, I think for St. Lucie County.

I read your post (from several years back) on Ancestry. My
Cochrans came from Pennsylvania. The oldest that I am aware of was James, born in the late 1700s. He had at least one son, Thompson Cochran who lived his life in Rimersburg, Pa. Could you give me some of yours background information for those of your ancesters born in Pennsylvaia so that I can decide whether I am related?

My Cochran family lived in Rimersburg, Pa. The oldest line I have is James Cochran, he had at least one son, Thompson Cochran. Thompson had three sons- Herbert, George ( my g grandfather,) and William Cochran. William had the most children and remained in Rimersburg through his life. I have some dates, but will have to send those later. There is another Pa. James Cochran born Nov 10 1830, Chester, Pa. I don't know if this is my James or not. His wife was Hannah Hamill and their son was Israel H. Cochran born, Chester, Pa.

My name is Andrew Montgomery and I am his Grandson. I am told Cochran was his stepfathers last name and he later took his biological fathers last name which was Montgomery. He passed away in an accident in Nevada in 1978 at 35 years old. He had a daughter named Kymberly Montgomery and a son named Robert Montgomery both with his wife Peggy. I am told he also had a child named Sherri with his first wife Beverly Brink. I am currently looking for her. My mom was Kymberly Montgomery and she passed away last July. My mothers brother Robert is still living. I would love to get in touch with you and I hope to hear from you soon!

I have a William Cochran in my line. It is said that he was born in Scotland. He is the father of James Cochran. James was born in Pennsylvania in the late 1700s and married to Catherine Riddinger/Reddinger. Any info on them would be greatly appreciated.

I recently joined ancestry. My search began with a photo of Abraham Cochran. I was always told this side was Irish but a census showed his parents were from Scotland. Unfortunately my search ends with him also because I have no idea as how to find out the names of his parents.

Hi My grandmother(violia)and grandfather(herbert cochran)from caribou have told me stories about the founding of caribou.Did you know they had alot to do with the maine state flag design?Harry H.Cochrane is only credited with the disign on the 1920 maine half dollar,the design is the same.

There is some reason to believe that Patric Cochran was the earliest family member of a branch of the Cochrans but little is recorded about his life or activities that I have found. Common info in the searches indicte married and buried in MA but vital records aren't easily available on any of those events. Does anyone have knowledge of his life, etc. that can be traced?

I have recently noticed that a number of researchers are now showing that John Cochran's father as Samuel Cochran and his mother as Sarah Woods. The John Cochran I am referring to, was born 1750 and married Rebecca Lindsay. He died in 1793 in Lincoln Co., NC. I just wondered is there now proof that Samuel is John's father? If I have missed something somewhere, please enlighten me. I have searched for John's father for years and have been told repeatedly that Samuel was not John's father. I would be elated if he is, but I would like to know what finally determined this.

Trying to determine the father of Robert Cochran, Jr. My line of Cochrans descend from John Cochran of Lincoln Co., NC. John had a son Robert Cochran that married Letitia Reed and they lived in Rutherford Co., NC. I know that they had 8 children and I do not believe that one of them was named Robert, Jr. This Robert Cochran, Jr. was married to Pamela Norvill in 1824. Just trying to determine if this Robert, Jr. has any connection to my Cochrans. Have not been able to find much info on Robert, Jr. Not sure when he was born, or where he lived. I would appreciate any info to clear this up.

Looking for any information on James Cochran, born about 1762 in Scotland. Arrived in what is now Knox County, Tennessee by before 1786, when he married. His son, Benjamin Franklin Cochran, was born there in 1788. They moved and settled in Allen County and were one of the first five families there. Just can't seem to find anything about James, i.e. his father, spouse, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Today is March 2, 2012 and tonight I went searching through my family information for the birthdate for my great-grandmother, Ann Eliza Cochran who married Robert Lamb in Nanaimo. We’ve always known that she was born in Latrobe, PA in 1864 and we think in June sometime. Tonight I did an internet search (Ancestry) and discovered an inquiry done a couple of years ago by my first cousin, Sandy Irvine. From that, I discovered your comments.

I live in Victoria and have always known that my grandmother, May Lamb, was born in 1891 in Nanaimo and lived on Kennedy Street near her cousin, Ethel Thompson (married to Bill Barraclough). My grandmother was an only child and as a young girl she moved with her parents to Fernie, BC.
In 1944 she and my grandfather (Bill Gates) retired to Victoria. Throughout her life, she had a close friendship with her cousin, Ethel, and husband, Bill, especially when they lived out their last decades in Nanaimo.
Does any of this sound at all familiar???

As a child, my mother and I lived in Victoria with my grandparents, so I became very familiar with stories of the past. I knew that “Mamie” (that’s what we called my grandmother) was the daughter of Ann Eliza who travelled as a child from PA along the Oregon Trail. I knew that my great grandmother had a brother, Webster, who lived in Cedar.
If this means anything to you, I have more photos that I could share with you.

The Cochran Clan is my family "Jo T." Cochran is my mother, she passed in 1987. Most of the Cochran's are buried in Pettit
Cemetery, near Keys, Oklahoma. The Cochran's are Cherokee Indian. My mother was raised in the beautiful "Cookson Hills"
near Tenkiller Lake. Would love to hear for any distant family.

Jesse ,I think was a son of William cochran which for some reason had change his last name to miller ,but later some of their kids change back to cochran.

I'm trying to find Elias Cochran born in 1826. Census say he was born in Ohio, and another says Kentucky. He married in Brown County, Ohio, had 7 children, moved to Missouri in 1870. Any info you have on this particular Elias Cochran would be greatly appreciated. I can't find anything on his siblings or parents.

Looking for info regarding Jane Cochran b. 1811 in Ohio who married John Hull March 1833 in Perry Co. Ohio. I have found them in the 1850 census in Parry Co. Ohio and the 1860 Census in Woodford Co. Illinois. I have not been able to find anything on them after the 1870 Census. Would like to find out who Jane's parents are.

My cochran family came from Clarion county, around the town of Rimersburg. If yours comes from the same place, we may have a connection. James Cochran had, at least one son named Thompson P. Cochran. Thompson had three sons. They were all born and raised in the area. Their names were- William, Herbert, George.

My ancestors were Cochrans from Rimersburg, Clarion county, Pa. My greatgreat grandfather, Thompson Cochran and his father James ( I believe this was his father's name) lived in Rimersburg. I don't know if I can help you or not,I need to look over information I have received from a distant cousin

I am looking for ancestors of Elias Cochran, born 1826 in either Ohio or Kentucky. He married Nancy Henderson in Brown County Ohio in 1847. He had 8 children with 4 wives, moved to Missouri in 1870 and died there around 1900. If anyone has any info about his ancestors or family, please email me. I seem to have hit a brick wall concerning his parents or siblings.

There is an Anna Carter, who died Apr 1902, buried on the lot of Lemon and Angeline Seaman Carter, in Olathe Memorial Cemetery,

I am trying to find ANY info on my gr-great grandmother, Margaret Jane Cochran. She was born around 1825-1830. I believe in Clarion Co. She married John Henry Reigle around 1847. They lived in Rimersburg. He owned a hotel. Margaret died between 1900 and 1910. She is a major "brick wall"

She died 9/10/1841. They are the parents to(my direct ancestor) John Cochran,born 12/7/1798 married to Catharine Larsons in 1822, and died in Limestone, Clarion, PA on 9/18/1866. John's siblings were Alexander(b.7/12/1797 d.9/21/1850) James (b. 9/22/1799, d.9/24/1824) Samuel (b. 10/9/1802, d.8/10/1873 in Michigan) William(b.2/5/1805 d. 12/25/1859 in Mt. Vernon, OH) Joseph(b.2/18/1807 d.9/19/1871 in Brookville, PA) David (b.2/15/1809, d. 9/19/1876 in Mt Vernon, OH) Annie (b. 3/17/1811 d.2/20/1884 in West Virginia.
