Coe, S. E., German Flats, was born in Granville, Mass., July 9, 1827. He taught school eight years and then went into the jewelry business. He has been twenty-one years in the brick and insurance business in Mohawk. He is a Mason and a strong Democrat. In 1858 Mr. Coe married Miss Catherine Myers and they have a son Frederick and a daughter Clara, who is a teacher. Mr. Coe manufactures about 2,000,000 bricks annually in his yards at Illion, N.Y.
