I guess Colinas is a surname from Leon province in NW Spain. Part of my mother's family who, all of them are from Leon, carry the name Colinas, which, as you probably know, means hill in english.
All the Colinas I know are from that part of Spain.
This is a relatively uncommon name which I dont know the origin of...

I met a woman in Ireland who was searching Colina. She said they came from Spain to Ireland and then to US. Anyone have any info I could pass on to her?

In venezuela there are many Colinas, most of them are from the north east of Venezuela.
My father was born in Venezuela even his father. I think we are not related but who knows?
I have been here in California for only 3 years it's not too much , but It's wonderful to know that the Colinas have been here since 1830
