Mollie Snicker Colley was my grandfather's first wife. Although I don't have a lot of information some of their children are still living. My mother is a result of Coda's second marriage after Mollie died and she was very involved
in her half sisters and brother.

Hi, I have a Monroe Colley on a list my great grandmother gave me. He was her great uncle I think. Can't be that many Monroe Colley's but his father is Frank Colley and his mother is Martha Taylor Colley. Monroe was sold into slavery with 3 of his brothers, Benjamin, Miles and Frank Jr. He had 16 siblings. His sister Mary Lou is my great great grandmother. I am just looking for any clue that I can to piece this together. Contact me godsproperty71@yahoo.com

Hi there
My dad and I are researching his family line and have also become stuck at a Thomas Colley. We know his son was Thomas Samuel Colley born Jan 1896 whose mother was Ann(e) Hadkiss. Living in Haggerston, Shoreditch, London around this time. We know Thomas Colley died before 1924 when his son (Thomas Samuel) got married. But that is it, know-one seems to be able to shed more light on this, it's so frustrating!!!! Any ideas or help greatly appreciated!
Stephanie

Hi Susan,
Thank you for your interest. I only found out about this three years ago. Clyde was adopted by Bertha Louise Colley, sister of Alvin Colley. Bertha married Edgar Raymond Crow so I only new my father was adopted but not why. Clyde died in 1963 saving my drowning brother in a lake in Texas, so I don't really remember him. (I was 5 yrs old) My father and mother have been gone since I was very young so I didn't know the story or my real last name until I got a call from Larry Reynolds the grandson of Della Fern Colley also Alvin's sister. Funny how things work out. God answers prayers.
Keep in touch, Keith Crow

WOWWWWWW!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!! I don't know what to say about this!!! I have read a few of the newspaper accounts (thank you for sending the information)...and I am just shocked!!! You hear about stuff like this...but you just don't really think it can happen, except in the movies!!!

How did your father handle it growing up??? It must have been hard for him!! Was he ultimately raised by Elsie and Carl Fox?

I am going to send the articles to the other cousin...and tell her about all of this...I am sure she will be as shocked as I am....This other cousin would be related to you as your 3rd cousin 1x removed (she is your father's 3rd cousin)....I am too far removed from the line to be even listed as a "cousin"....I will let you know if she is interested in contact!! I think she will...she always loves to find new cousins and family!!

Thank you for the information...and for contacting me!!

Take care
Susan

Hi Susan,
Ethel was my grandmother married to Alvin M Colley. They had three boys, Clarence, Clement, and Clyde (my father).
Ethel M Fox b: Cir 1906, Kipton, Lorain County, Ohio d: 15 Aug 1933, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, par: Carl Fox and Elsie M Oglevie.
They were all murdered by Mark H Shank, a prominent Akron, Ohio Attorney 15 Aug 1933. They were all poisoned. My father Clyde was the lone survivor of his family.
There's a number of newspaper articles about the trial. One even has a picture of Ethel and and my father Clyde at 4 yrs old. (The Miami News - Dec 2, 1933)
Mark H Shank (Electric chair)

Hope this helps, God Bless,
Keith Crow, 360-691-5926

If you can email me on gsbr@iinet.net.au I'll send you a PDF of info I have. I've not uploaded anything to the internet. Names is one thing but their stories is soemthing else isn't it. Look forward to hearing from you via the email.
Gary

Hi Pauline, I will keep your info as you never know your luck that something will fall into place. As far as I am aware mine all stayed in East London, Stepney and Whitechapel areas mainly, the one I am trying to find was from Clerkenwell. There are so many of them and all with really boring names. I recently carried out some research in the New Zealand records for a friend and they all obligingly had two (many unusual) names. No such luck with this lot!!Good luck with your research.
