LOUIS F. COLVIN
Funeral service for Louis F. Colvin, 79, of Arlington, who died Tuesday, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Arlington. The Rev. Gerald T. Buckley, pastor of St. Margaret Mary Church will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Columban's Cemetery, Arlington.
Born in Dorset on Oct. 20, 1898, he was the son of Fayette and Florence [Dunbar] Colvin, and served in both the U.S. Army and Navy during both World Wars. He had been employed at the Hale Co., in East Arlington for several years.
Mr. Colvin was a member of the Eagles and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Manchester, and the American Legion Post 69 in Arlington.
His wife, the former Melina Colvin, died in 1957.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Florence Colvin of Brattleboro; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Taft of Jamaica and Mrs. Sadie Lyon of Vernon; one brother, Floyd, of South Dorset; two step-daughters, Mrs. Leona Griswold and Mrs. Martha Hayes, both of Sunderland; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arlington Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.

Funeral services for Louis F. Colvin, of Arlington, were conducted at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Arlington, Oct. 20, by the Rev. Gerald T. Buckley, pastor of St. Margaret Mary's Church, officiating.
Bearers were Thomas Ryan, Richard Dahm, Clarence Nichols, Humphrey Wrin, Charles Squires and Victor Hastings.
Burial took place in St. Columban's Cemetery, Arlington, where a 21-gun salute was given the veteran of both World War I and II. He was accorded military honors by the Arlington American Legion Post 69, with the flag presentation being made by Commander Ryan. Veterans of the World Wars made up the honor guard.
Also present at the services were representatives from Hale Co., East Arlington; the VFW, Manchester; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1861, from Bennington.
Mr. Colvin died at his home Oct. 18.

Gardner D. Colvin, 82, of North Bennington Road, whose wife, the former Iona Terbordeau, died Oct. 12, died Saturday at Putnam Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for 10 days.
Born in Dorset June 16, 1887, he was the son of Fayette and Anna [Reed] Colvin, and had received his education in Dorset. He and the last Mrs. Colvin were married in Castleton 55 years ago.
Survivors are two sons, Fayette of Bennington and Frank Colvin of Troy, N.Y.; his stepmother, Mrs. Florence Colvin of Dorset; three grandchildren, seven great grand children, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hanson - Walbridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas D. Steffen, Second Congregational Chruch pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Dorset.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services for Gardner D. Colvin of the North Bennington Road were held Tuesday afternoon at the Hanson - Walbridge Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas D. Steffen, pastor of the Second Congregational Church, officiated.
Members of the family acted as bearers. Besides friends and relatives attending from this area, family friends in the Dorset area attended the committal service in Maple Hill Cemetery in Dorset where burial was made. The Rev. Mr. Steffen gave the prayers.
Mr. Colvin died Saturday at the Putnam Memorial Hospital. His wife, whose maiden name was Iona TeBordeau?, died last week.

Born in Castleton April 25, 1898, she was the daughter of Ernest and Adabelle [Jakway] Terbordeau. Mrs. Colvin had been employed at Woolworth's a few years ago.
Survivors besides her husband are two stepsons, Fayette Colvin of North Branch Street and Frank Colvin of Troy, N.Y.; two brothers, Edmond of Salem, N.Y., and Gordon Terbordeau of Brewster, N.Y.; nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas D. Steffen, Second Congregational Church pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Hillside Cemetery in Castleton.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

In addition to his son, Vernon, he leaves three other sons, Gerald Colvin of Bennington, George Colvin of South Shaftsbury and Clifton Colvin of Toronto, Canada; two daughters, Mrs. James Simmons of Hoosick Falls, N. Y., and Mrs. Ralph Pesso of Bellows Falls; a brother, Gardner of Saranac Lake, N.Y., also 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral of Elmer D. Colvin, longtime Danby resident, who died at the age of 73 Sunday evening at Rutland Hospital after a long illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Brewster Funeral Home in Manchester Center by the Rev. Hal C. Miller, pastor of the United Church of Dorset and East Rupert.
Burial will follow in Scottsville Cemetery, Danby, with the Rev. Mr. Miller offering committal prayers at the graveside.
Born Sept. 10, 1902 in Scottsville to Duane and Mary [Wilkins] Colvin, he received his education in the Danby schools and was employed for many years at Cain's Greenhouses in Manchester.
Besides his widow, the former Nellie Matson, who he married in Manchester Oct. 26/25?, 1921, he leaves to sons, Cecil of Tinmouth and Leo of Danby; a daughter Nedaleen Ford of East Dorset; six grandchildren; and a brother, Vollie of Tinmouth.

DANBY -- Guy Edwin Colvin, 62, who died Friday at his home in Danby after a brief illness, was born Feb. 13, 1907, in Tinmouth, son of Dwayne [sic] and Mary [Wilkins] Colvin.
He had resided in Danby for six years and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, the former Alberta Rowe, 10 step-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Colvin of Danby and Vollie Colvin of Tinmouth; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Towsley of East Dorset and Mrs. Stella Reed of Dorset, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon at Congdon Funeral Home in Wallingford with the Rev. Richard C. Armstrong, pastor of the Wallingford Congregational Church, officiating. Burial was in Scottsville Cemetery in Danby.
Bearers were Percy Phillips and Bill Colvin, both of Tinmouth; Lester Wood of Mt. Holly, Foster Colvin of Sunderland, Floyd Colvin of Benson and Duane Mattison of East Dorset.
