I have lots of info on Cecil, the family lived in Lake Charles La. My grandmother was his sister and uncle Vernon lived with us until he died in the early 80`s.

He was born Nov. 11, 1918, in McKeesport,
a son of the late Falco and Marie (Iacuone) Como. He was the husband of the late Lucille Anne (Minnich) Como. He was a recorder at U.S. Steel National Works with 39 years of service. He was a member of and an usher at Corpus Christi Parish. He was a member of the Palenese Club of McKeesport. He is survived by a son, Gus C. (Charlotte), of McKeesport; grandchildren, Barbara Como, of McKeesport, and Michael (April) Como, of Level Green; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, John J. Como; and three sisters, Elizabeth Tyler Lytle, Stella Franchi and Jean Minnich. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the WILLIAM H. CRAIG FUNERAL HOME INC., 3000 Versailles Ave., McKeesport, Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Corpus Christi Parish, McKeesport. Private burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, North Versailles.

My great grandfather was the same Vincenzo Rocco as your grandfather, he had three Children, with Giusepina , Domenico (My Grandfather), Josephine and Vincenza (V they called her). The story about the maid is True, her last name is a french name is bon ventre or bon veltre, My father is big into family research. He cam across a partial family tree online on this site. I'm Domenico or Domenic's granddaughter, originally from new York. My mother is his eldest daughter. Domenic had 3 children, a son and 2 daughters. All still living and all who had children of their own.

There is even a placard with Vincenzo Rocco's name on it and year of passage into the US with his name on Ellis island. But he came over once or twice before he moved his family here. I think that was on his first trip here, I was able to see the records once, and it was pretty cool.

Check out "Report of Deaths of an American Citizens"; 1930-1939; British South Africa; page 125-146. This is available on ancestry.com. and may shed some light on this event. I am in no way related but just happened upon this information while "browsing" and Googled Mr. Como when I saw he had been a boxerat one time.

Hi, my grandfather was Gaspare Barone, married to Caterina Como. Gaspare died in the late 40s due to illness.

Evelyn Ruth Ritchey Como, 91, 501 Silvery Lane, Martinsburg, formerly of New Enterprise, died Friday at her home.

She was born in Boswell, daughter of Marcellus and Nellie G. Hollsopple. She first married Glenn H. Ritchey on Aug. 20, 1943, in Jamestown, Pa., and he died June 10, 1992. She then married Roy E. Como on Aug. 1, 1993, and he died Nov. 20, 2008.

Surviving are four stepchildren: Jean Barbour in Florida, Donna Heffley of Reading, Georgia Roberts of Bradenton, Fla., and Roy Como Jr. in New Jersey; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Shaulis Griffith; a stepdaughter, Shirley Como; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Griffith.

Evelyn was a 1937 graduate of Boswell High School and a 1941 graduate of State Teachers College at Indiana, Pa., with a degree in home economics. She taught in the Bedford area at Replogle from 1941-55 and in the Everett area from 1955-73, and she helped out with school plays and where she was needed.

Evelyn was a member of Loysburg United Methodist Church for 32 years and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International from 1994-96. She enjoyed teaching, cooking, sewing, gardening, crafts and traveling.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at S. Gerald Weaver Funeral Home, Woodbury, followed by a funeral service at noon.

Memorials may be made to German Seventh-day Baptist Church of Salemville.

I HAVE NEWS TO SHARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going in with spcops to take the criminals down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will see Justice, I was nearly killed, there are six cars and two motorcycles gone! My 67 RS CAMARO runnin 570 HORSE mom and dads car my brother Tony's car, you did not know me well. The few Problems I had were over long ago. I have done very good things with my life. I am a Cowboy, a diver, a musician a martial artist and more owned several Business, Now all of them who caused us to lose both my home and my families home and my Italian restaurant will pay! MILITARY UNIFORMS GONE total now since it was done twice is over $200,000,000.00 I worked as a business man in Oregon for years and went home to take care of dad and my brother. Then all this happened! I am my fathers son and my mothers son and proud of my heritage, made mistakes but now and for a long time have done no wrong. Saved Lives helped many. How old are you..?? My grandfathers name is not the same as yours. ....I like to know how exactly we are related.. as I know my father was Uncle Perrys brother a direct link. So I have no question about I am or not . I know I am .. but.. why were your relatives.. so I can see a connection.. not all como's are como's from the same line.. I just am trying to see the connection... not to make a problem.. as many think they are related and are not. So, if you have some names in common that I can see and know then .. maybe there is .. as there was never a mention of a Lena in our family. ...your Mom's name , dad's .. eg. ....just trying to figure where the connection is... that is all as I know all my cousins namaes and Aunts & Uncles.. and the names you are mentioning ..are not part of it at all..... During those days most immigrants helped one another.. does not mean becase they stay in a home they are related.. but I am interested to see if we are by what you are disclosing/. Look forward ... to hearing..

Dear pamela , how nice find a relative, we ARE related my granfather is Comino como who lived in the house in cannonsburg with perrys family when he came over from palana( not sure how it spelt) Italy . I'll find out the exact details and write back. I also have a picture of my aunt Lena and Perry como , Perry is holding a photo of my grandfather in the picture. Will get back to u soon:)

I was recently told that Perry Como and my father had the same godfather not godmother. The godfather's name is Giustino Medoro/Medolo who eventually moved to Philadelphia. This name was given to me by the Diocese of Pittsburgh Archives and Record Center. We thought they had the same godmother, but my aunt says no it is not the godmother Amelia Del Bene. Can someone please verify this so we can finish the family tree.

There is something that you can do for me please if you can. My father's godmother lived in Canonsburg, PA on Smith Street, and he assuredly told my sister and I that he and Perry C.had the same godmother. Her name was Amelia Del Bene,wife of Emilio Del Bene both long deceased. if you could check this out for me I would be most appreciative.

You are right regarding my grandfathers name of Pietro. But if he did come over with my Grandfather then the manifest should verify they were on the same boat... I will check for you and get back to you.

There was never mention of the person you believe is related or part of the family tree. Sorry. How ever if you could supply the name of Anna's Father I may be able to confirm he was or was not part of the line to be sure. As only my Grandfather came originally and then went back for my grandmother but no others came with them .
