Carol,
I know your post was a long time ago, but I need family information from you if you have any more. If your info listed is true, you're my mom Donna's cousin. I've been trying to get history for her but it seems impossible sometimes. Donna is the daughter of Hollis Conger (Wayne's brother). Actually my mom had tried to get in touch with you dad recently but the last address and phone number she had for him was wrong. She talked to him about 6-7 years ago. Please get in touch with me if you can. I don't know if you ever met my mom.
Thanks,
Bre

Congor, Enoch and Noah, 1790's Danby, VT

I have a Asa Smith Hitt marrying a Hannah Maria Randall, b. 22Aug 1805 Danby Rutland Co, VT. on 8 Oct 1829. Hannah is the daughter of Caleb and Lydia (Congor) Randall
In a copy of The History and Map of Danby, Vermont, pub 1869 by J. C. Williams. There is a listing for Enoch Congor and Noah Congor. I believe that Noah is the son of Enoch as there is a Noah as a son with Enoch. Both of these men have daughters by the name of Lydia
Enoch’s Lydia is listed as marrying a Robert Baker. Noah's Lydia has no reference as to whom Lydia married.
Here is the discrepancy about Enoch’s Lydia.
Under the Randall name. Caleb son of Snow Randall from Adams MA. married Lydia Congor, Dau of Enoch Congor.
If you would like I can scan the three Randall names I have along with the Congor name.
Does anybody have any info on the Lydia and Randall marriage
Thank you in advance
John Fennell
Atlantic Canada
Hi Pam, My name is Richard Conger Jr. My grandfather was S.J. Conger JR. (General Green Conger's Brother.) My dad is Richard Sr. and has 4 brothers-Carl David, James Larry, Billy Darrel, and Terry Dewayne. Their mother was Margaret Weeks. I have a good amount of stuff from my dads bible if you email me I can scan it and get it to you. If you have anything that I dont have it would be great if you could get it to me. I am particularly interested in our Native American lineage. There are a couple of names on the family tree that do not have last names. This was typical of that time period when native americans married into a family because they did not have last names to go with their given christian names. any help is greatly appreciated. email me at rcongerjr@gmail.com
David Conger, Early Settler of the "Sufferers Land"

I have posted a review of "History of the Fire-Lands," published in 1879 by WW Williams on the "Firelands History Website": http://firelands.wordpress.com.
Included in this book is a biography, portrait and illustrations of the residence of David Conger, who settled in the Firelands of Northwestern Ohio in 1819.
The Firelands, or Sufferers' Land, was set aside for "Sufferers" in Connecticut whose homes were burned by the British during the American Revolution. It includes present day Huron, Erie, Ottawa, and Ashland Counties in Ohio.
My post includes a short synopsis of "History of the Fire-Lands" and the Table of Contents with links to the free on-line book's histories, biographies and illustrations of the pioneers and their families.
I invite you to check out this interesting biography of David Conger and other pioneers of the Firelands.

Jeptha was Bunard's father. Besides Annie and Bunard, Jeptha and Clara "Clary" Ann Warner had 10 other children - Sarah, William, Virginia, Susan, Mary, Samuel, Elizabeth, Edmund, Martha, and Adelia. Jeptha's father was William Wilson Conger born about 1790 NC. I don't know who his mother was. Nor do I have the names of his siblings. The line descended from John Conger (Belconger) -> John Conger -> John Conger -> Jonathan Conger (father of William Wilson).

Patricia Max

Yes - in the 1860 census Bunard's father (or grandfather) Jephtha Cougy shows up as Jephtha Conger in Louisiana, and the Cougy's disappear from the census, so the census taker must have just gotten the name wrong. A couple of pages later he complains about being lost and running out of ink.

Anyway, thanks - that's the bit I needed to move forward.

I googled Kittley family in Little River. I found a reference to Mrs. Bam Conger and Mrs D.L. Pipkin being the only living children of Ben Kittley. It was from the Little River News Jan 31, 1934.

So I looked for her in 1930 with no luck. Then I searched the 1930 census for Little River for the name Eugene (no last name).

1930 Wilton
Bane Couger 49 widow AR AL SC
Eugene Couger 16 stepson TX AR AR

You probably found Bua/Bun Conger in 1920 living as a roomer and listed as a widow.

And you likely found Eugene in 1920 listed as a nephew of OD and Annia Turner. I guessed that Annia was a Conger and sister to Bun. I found OD and Anna M. in 1910. So, I searched for Anna M. Conger in 1880 with no luck. I then searched for Anna M. (no last name) in 1880. I found Anna M. Cougy age 7 and she had a brother Bunard age 5.

Do you have access to Ancestry? If not, I can post more details.

Hope this is helpful.
