I am searching for information regarding John Conley (1831-1858) and his wife Catherine Tiquin (or Fagan). He may have had a brother named James Conley (1827-1895), a sister named Mary, and a mother named Hannah. However, it's also possible that the John Conley and Catherine Tiquin/Fagan I'm looking for are a different family than James/Mary/Hannah.

Our family can go back with certainty to a John Conley (1838-1858) who would have been this person's son, who was married to Mary Ann Dye. That John's obituary cited John and Catherine Tiquin as his parents, but they don't appear in any public records. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help us prove they existed! Thank you!

I am looking for my great grandfather and 2 brothers who came from Ireland in 1887. I have very little info on Patrick who settled in Stark County, Ohio. His brother, Michael, also settled there. I cannot find anything about Michael or James. I believe they changed their names from Connally to Conley as soon as they boarded ships from Liverpool. Any info would be appreciated.
Jane

I'm trying to find information about my paternal grandmother's side of the tree. Her name was Gloria Carolyn (Conley) Baldwin b. 4 Apr 1922 in Colorado. Her dad was Leon Cecil Conley b. 15 Aug 1890 and was married to Mabel M Green, b. 5 Oct 1890.

Based on census data, I know that Leon was in Arizona in 1930 and that he was born in Missouri. And, according to his marriage license, Leon's dad's name is J R Conley (but that it is very hard to read).

I've hit a brick wall... does anyone have any more info about Leon or his dad?

(I updated this message with new information)

I am in possession of the John Dykeman and Virginia Mayo Conley family bible. The front inside cover appears to have Virginia's signature and date of their wedding, possibly a wedding gift. The center family area starts with birthdates of John D 1843 and Virginia M and their 2 children John Mayo and Elizabeth. The opposite family side lists Virginia's family with a Sam T. Mayo born in 1818.
This was a bible in my father's house for many years as a conversation piece/decoration.
If you are interested at all in purchasing this bible, I would be happy to discuss the details with you.
I have found the research into John Dykeman Conley very interesting. I appreciate your answering my query.
Thank you, Mike Wasilewski. 248-399-6988.

Yes. I am a descendant of James Emmett Conley, one of the 10 siblings of John Dykeman Conley, who was the oldest of the children. The Conley family lived in the village of Canastota on the Erie Canal in New York State since about 1840 (and some still live there). John Dykeman Conley was a professor at Blackstone University in Illinos and eventually went to the University of Wyoming. His house in Laramie WY is on the natural register of historic sites. I would be glad to send you more information about him. What is your interest?

Rick Conley

CONLEY'S OF VIRGINIA & WEST VIRGINIA
Researching Conley family of Virginia & West Virginia between 1900 and 1888, beginning with most recent generation, John Leroy Conley aka Roy Conley. According to the 1930 US Federal Census, he was born in Allison, McKinley Co, New Mexico in 1930. He had two older brothers, Fred, age 3, born in Colorado; and brother Robert, age 2, born in Florida.
His father was "Bud" Fervis Durwood Conley, born 1903/04 in West Virginia/died Santa Clara, Ca in 1953. the 1930 US Fed Census identifies him as a coal miner; and his wife Mildred Hoskins, born 1909 in S. Dakota/died 1960 in Orange Park, Clay Co, FL. They were married in 1925

"Bud" Fervis Durwood Conley was the son of
Robert Conley, birth date unknown perhaps in Boone Co, WV, I have no death date but his death was also in Boone Co, WV in December 1888/89.

Robert Conley married Deborah Wolfe (daughter of Mallory Wolfe and Mary Margret Hill) in Mason Co, West VA in Feb 1865. They had one child, Fervis Durwood Conley born 1903.
She is shown married again to Mr. John Frederick Holdeman (1877-1936)in Tuscarowas, Ohio in the 1910 US Fed Census. son Fervis, age 7, resided with his mother, her new husband, two infant daughters, Marjorie and Olive, ages 2 and almost 1, and a (step?)brother Daniel age 19.

If anyone knows more about this Conley line and beyond Robert would greatly appreciate your input. I am assisting a first cousin (of this Conley line) in gathering her lineage for DAR membership. Thank You!

Re: Conley's from Portland, Maine

I am the granddaughter of Anna D. Conley, the youngest of Dudley and Mary Conley's children. Her birth record name is under Sarah Conley, but they never called her Sarah. She was actually known as Anna Dorothy Conley throughout her life. To my knowledge, no one called her Annie and there is an Annie L. Conley who lived in Portland and whose records appear to be confused with my Grandmother's, but Annie L. was actually born near Madawaska, I believe. My Anna (who, by the way, we always called Nina) had a third child, who is still living. Her name is Ruth. We call her Aunt Kiki and, at present, she is sill alive; living in North Carolina. Her full name is Ruth Brakefield now. Her husband is James. My Mother was Eleanore, who was known as Ann (her middle name). My uncle, Anthony B., was known as "Sonny". I know - all these nicknames make it interesting. ;>) I am the oldest of 5 children born to Eleanore. My Father was Col. Albert Gilbert Marin. My siblings, in order, are: Philip James Marin, Michelle Edith Marin Boulay (deceased), Albert G. Marin III (we call him Chip and he, too, is a full-bird Colonel, now retired), and Lisa Therese Marin White. Hope this is helpful for you. Thank you for all of the great information on the Conley's! Would love to hear from you. Ann Marin Frizzell, also known as Didi.

I have been searching for Moses for some time and this is most helpful.
His marriage was posted in the Saratoga Sentinel as 14 Jan 1836 if you don't have that.
I do have to tell you that I have made copies of the James Conley (Cornlee) family bible and the three wives of James are 1; Phebe Warden, 2; Alcy Cole, my ancestor, and 3; Polly Benedict. He had two children with Phebe and nine with Alcy, none with Polly. I think I told you that I'm in SLC researching families and will try to get more sources for this one.
What is your book source for the Belding family? Would appreciate that very much.
Hope this helps. Take care.

Warren
