This information was sent to me, when I was searching for my grandparent's information. Seems that Zephyr became good friends with them.
"Among 1890-1894 more or less arrived to Bahia de Caraquez from U.S.A. a Greek born in Pilos (as I know) naturalized American citizen named Zephyr Constantine that made business in Bahia and Chone like consular agent."
Hi Donna,

Do you know if your Constantine family roots come from Pouch Cove? If so, we could exchange info? Some of my Constantine relatives moved to St Johns in the early 20th century. My email address is in the posts above, could you email me so I could send you the stuff I have? It is too much to post in this forum.

Sharon Lewison

I am interested in just one Constantine, that of Matthew Constatine a sailor, I know he died in Pembrokeshire in 1940, however at the time he was believed to be aged 50+ and from Tyneside.
Free BMD shows Matthew aged 45 at his death in the Haverfordwest Registration District, this district agreeing with the place of his death.
There is a Matthew Constantine born in Keighley Reg District in 1893, and would like to prove that the Matthew's of 1893 and 1940 are one and the same person.
I hope to have more info when I have visited his headstone, but in the meantime wonder if you are able to confirm any details.
I am not related to the Constantine surname
Rgds
Orielbenfro
ORIEL a welsh window on a surname

Honora’s name was Hannah Honora Gilligan 1798-1865.
Our relative was there son, Patrick Henry Constantine, born 1832 in Mumford, NY and died in Buffalo in 1916. He was married to Susan Duggan (b. 1829 in Ireland, and died in Buffalo, 1901). They had 5 children including twin sons born in 1867, John and William. William married Harriet Adelaide Wallace in 1895 and they had 3 sons: Harold J. (1896-1963, William Wallace (1897-1970), and Walter Edwin (1901-1991). Neither Harold nor William Wallace had any children. Walter married Elizabeth Marie Boland in 1939. They had 5 children: John Boland (1941, currently in Andover Ma.), Walter Edwin, Jr. (1942, Elma, NY), William Joseph (1944, NYC), Ann Elizabeth (1945, Andover, Ma.), and me, Robert Wallace (1948 in Buffalo, NY). All are living.

I would be happy to share information if you contact me.

Robert Constantine

Hi
Thought I would reply and say that I have just started to find out about my Fathers family, trouble is he has passed and never talked about his parents or other members of the previous generation. Just as if they did not exist! My farther was Charles, born in Nottingham, England. So I have started from there, but it is so hard with no refrences! Still, I wish you all the luck in finding your past and maybe we will have a branch that joins, who knows?
All the best
Angela

Hi, I've just discovered your message below.

And that my Sheffield Constantines came from Wensleydale around 1780: William Constantine born 1756 in Giggleswick (probably a butcher). His father was probably John Constantine born c1721 probably in Giggleswick.

Do they connect with your information, please? If so, I'll gladly send more details.

Many thanks.

Peter

When you get back to Elslack in the Parish of Broughton, 17th century, you'll bump into my known line! From there ~ some moved to Haworth ~ from Haworth.... the diaspora throughout the world is quite extensive.

nota bene: there is an odd branch in Keighley in the 19th/20th century that do not descend from the Haworth branch....

One day I intend to prove the link between ALL of them in that area...
~ but I do need others' help who have got extracted parish records that are not yet available on~line.

Hola Gloria

http://stevemorse.org/ellis2/ellisgold.html

Samos Former Prison Compound,
83100 Samos +30 22730-24220 +30 22730-28682 mail@gak.sam.sch.gr
Contact: X. Landros

Atentamente

Xavier
Hi Xavier,

Foremost thank you for this valuable information. I will ask Hector for the copy of that picture.

Yes, I do speak Spanish. I live in Miami, Florida. I was born in Ecuador, my father was Licurgo Epaminondas Constantine and my grandfather as we knew of him was Dimitrio Constantine.

Hector Solorzano Constantine is my cousin, his mother my father's sister but I have only seen and have a copy of one picture, of my grandfather. I also have a copy of their marriage certificate as Constantine.

But the questions began when we saw the letter sent by him to Samos, where the name changed to CH-Dimitrakis, asking for a return of some land.

The questions I have are many, such as why was the name changed? Why and how did they end up in Ecuador? Where did he died and lived? Did he ever go back to Greece?

Best regards,
Gloria
Greek? My grandmother (John's daughter) once wrote to King Constantine of Greece thinking we may be Greek. There are Taylor's buried in Leverington Cemetary in Phila. There is also a VFW Hall named after a Taylor (he was decapitated in WWI.--thus was honored with this VFW Hall. The Taylor's must be somewhat closely related as he is buried in my family plot.
