My Mother's maiden name was Cord

My name is Mike Morelock. My Mother's maiden name was Cord. Her father was Charles Cord., I never knew him. He died long before I was born. He was from a place called Cuba, Illinois(I bekieve that is correct). He would have been born around 1880. He married my Grandmother Maude Goldwire...she was from near Albany, Georgia. They lived in New Orleans. I do not know when he died...she died in 1966...To my knowledge, my Grandmother had no sons...I know almost nothing about his family except I am told that his Mother and Father were from Ireland..his Mother's maiden name was Elanor Kelly and she was from County Cork. She was supposed to have been a very tiny woman, so much so in fact, that most people thought she was my Great Grandfather's daughter..not his wife. I'm researching the family of Henry Cord who married Josphine Korte
They had several children one was Catherina who married Theophulis Miller in Shelbyville, In. and lived in Greensburg Ind. Catherina and Theo were my only known grandparents because they raised a boy they got from an orphanage by the name of George Joseph Hanselman Miller. I'm researching and trying to find out as much information about my father George and the family who so graciously gave him a home and family.

I am looking for information on a William L. Cord who was born about 1868 in Alabama. He married a woman named Lena, who was born in Texas about 1873, about 1890. They were living in Eddy County, New Mexico in 1930. They had one daughter named Sarah H., who was born about 1897. I am guessing that there were other children. Sarah married Robert P. Morrison, who was born 15 September 1895 in Texas, about 1916 probably in Texas. Sarah and Robert had three children, Lena Catherine, Margaret Louise and Robert P., Jr. Sarah died in Eddy County, New Mexico in 1922.

MISSOURI W. CORD: After an illness of ten weeks’ duration. Mrs. Missouri Wyatt Cord, wife of Mr. Frank P. Cord, Sr. died at her home, 513 South street, yesterday afternoon at 2:15 o’clock. She was 61 years old. Mrs. Cord was a native of Havre de Grace, Md., but had made her home in Portsmouth for the last ten years. Besides her husband and mother, Mrs. Catharine C. My gggrandparents were Lyndia Cord and Allen Gable. I do not know anything about them other than one of their daughter's was my ggrandmother Rose Belle who married Carl Edward Farney. Another daughter Daisy was married to Commodore Perry. Could someone help me with this. Rose was born in Illinois. Most of the Farney family was from Keithsburg Illinois and it is rumored that Rose was born there also, but, I dont' know.

I am just starting out on researching my ancestry. My grandfather was Thomas Cord b. 25 Jan 1895 in KY, died March 1984 also in KY. He married Ella Mae Bealer/Beeler and they had several children one of which was my father John W. Cord b. 29 Apr 1938, he changed the spelling of our last name to Corde when he joined the Military around 1954/5.He died 31 Oct 1999 in CA. He married Violina Mitchell, b. 18 Oct 1928, who changed the spelling of her first name to Violine d. 8 Dec 1989 in CA. If any one has any information on this Cord family please let me know, any information you may have would be helpful.
