I am also Enrique Corona and my father's name was also Alvaro Corona. He was born in Hidalgo but moved to Huixquilucan, EDO shortly after his father, Enrique Corona, was killed. He then immigrated to Houston around 1978 at the age of 20 and had 4 kids including myself. I think we may be related.

C. Corona, Vincent Comander & Thos Underwich run blockade, Mobile AL 1862

From the Mobile, Alabama Newpsaper:

1862

MAYORS COURT Before His Honor R.H. Slough. ...

C. Corona, Vincent Comader and Thos. Underwich, the master and crew of the sloop Julia were brought before the Mayor for examination. They have made several runs past the blockading squadron in the sound, with oranges, having heretofore obtained passes from Gens Lovell and Withers, as they say, though it is reported that the last time they left here was without a pass. The master is a Sicilian, calls himself a citizen, and has voted in New Orleans; has papers at home which he got from a countryman of his, but never appeared in any court, or to any oath of allegiance to the United States or the Confederate States. Comader also a Sicilian, says he is not a citizen and has never voted. Underwich, a German, calls himself a citizen. His parents are in the old country; he came here when about 14 years old, has voted, but never took any oath of allegiance, and has no papers; always understood that nothing of the kind was necessary for those who came to the country under 18 years of age. The examination only served to illustrate the beauties of the naturalization system as it has been monopolized, but elicited no facts tending to prove intercourse with the enemy. The sloop is said to be worth little or nothing. The Mayor required them to give bond in $100 each that they would not take the Julia or any other vessel away from Mobile, and referred their case, for further consideration, to the military authorities.

Not my line, just sharing.

Looking for info on Arcangela "Mary" Corona from Sora, Italy

My husband's grandmother was Arcangela Corona (aka Mary or Maria). She was born in Sora, Italy around 1892, married Angelo Mancini in Sora abt. 1908; immigrated to Chicago, Ill with her 3 daughters in 1920; legally changed her name to Mary. She remarried to Louis DeRubeis (possibly a cousin of Angelo's), also from Sora, around 1940. There are several Coronas who came from Sora to Chicago. I have isolated 2 families; one has a father of Carlo and the other has a father of Giuseppe. I believe that Arcangela may be from a 3rd family and cousins of the other Corona's. I have tracked Louis and her to 1951. There is no marriage or death record for either on the Cook Cty site. Her grandchildren do not remember when they died and no family papers exist. I would like to know how she is related to the other 2 Corona families and her parents' names, if possible. Thank you for any help anyone can give me.

Searching for a half-brother

It's a long shot but I am hoping to find a half-brother that I found out I had. I don't know much about him or his mother but here's what I do.

My dad left my mom in Guanajuato, Mexico with my 4 older brothers and came to the United States for work. While he was here he had another child with another woman. The youngest of my 4 older brothers is currently 23 years old and I was told that my half-brother was around the same age. My mother didn't here from my dad for months and she threatend to leave him. When my dad found out, he took the woman and her child back to Mexico, Guadalajara I think, and left them there. My mom didn't know about them until I am not sure what happened but my dad let the cat out of the bag years later.(Drama...I know) Now I want to find both or either one. I just can't imagine never meeting or knowing them...
My dad's name is Jose. If anyone has any info. or needs more info. please email me.

I have relatives from Puruandiro, Michoacan, Mexico who are Corona. Benigno Corona married Socorro Magana. One of their son's Santiago Corona Magana married Margarita Martinez Savala. Santiago and Margarita moved to Campeche, Mexico along with their many children in the 1960's because the government was offering land down there for free or next to nothing. Their children were all grown and had children of their own by the 60s.
