Where in Germany? I believe it was in Prussia. That is where his younger brother Carl was born anyway. Carl being my great great great great grandfather. The year was around 1820, Carl was born in 1822 and his brother was "just a bit older"(excerpt from his sons memoirs). I too hope that we can come up with some kind of connection. If you need more information let me know, anytime!

None of this sounds familiar now but I least I can check into it. I had nothing to go after the book I read said he came to Los Angeles. I wish it would have said from where! Can you tell me where in Germany your Adolph was born and year? I hope we can find some connection here. Lori

Thank you for the quick reply. I Had hoped to find that we had a connection, however your info about the pharmacy only proves to confuse me more. Our Adolf Junge' was indeed born in Germany, around 1820. We know that he lived on a farm in Illinois during the 1860's. From there, not much more is known. His brother Carl, did have dealings in California, so it may stand to reason that Adolf could have ended up going to California at some point. If any of this is at all familiar, please feel free to e-mail me back, if not, then I do wish you loads of luck with your search.

In the census it says he was born in Germany. I know he came to Los Angeles, California around 1870's and was a pharmacist on Main st. That was in a book that I can't seem to find the info right now. Lori
