Check out Oriley & Clotilde Cousin on 1900 La. St Tammany Census. They have a son named Arnold who was 2 yo then. May be your Arnold's parents since it's listed that they were born in La. on the Picayune census.

This Oriley Cousin just shows up, & I can't find him as a child.
I'll keep my eyes open for anything about the Cousins. Somewhere we have photo's of Smith, Hannah, Dorothy and Muriel if they're of any interest to you, I think my sister who is now the matriarch of the family has them.
I know Smith Cousin was a teacher, and he taught for a while in the Oxford area I think, both daughters were teachers as well, and the family have a plot in Oakworth Crematorium Graveyard.

Hi, I'm not actually related to the Cousins, but the family were good friends to my parents and grandparents, and they lived next door to each other in the 30's and 40's. If it helps, Dorothy Alice Cousins was born in 1894, and died 8/4/60 and Muriel Annie Mary born 1909 and died 21/1/89. If I can help anymore, can you use my e.mail address eric.bishop31@hotmail.co.uk

Thank you so much for this information. I hadn't found Muriel yet. I don't suppose you have found details of Heaton's father. I think he may have been born before his parents marriage. If you are interested in the Cousin family ancestors please let me know I have a fair bit of information. PS. Are you related to the Cousin family?

Pierre Cousin (b. 1860) of St Tammany Parish, LA

I'm attempting to determine who might be the father of my great-grandfather Pierre (aka Peter Cousin aka Joseph Peter Cousins). His mother was Marie Eveline Xavier (b. 1824). He had several siblings. Two of his sisters (Rosa and Josephine) married into the Broyard family. I've seen a birth record for Josephine listing her father as Anatole Cousin. I've also seen several mentions online about Rosa's father being Anatole, but no actual records of that yet. At the time of the 1860 census, Octave Cousin (Anatole's brother, as far as I can determine) considered Eveline's residence in St Tammany to be his 'usual place of abode'. However, in 1870 he is living with Delphine Morgan and her children.

I'm not sure where to go from here. If I can prove the parentage of a few more of his siblings, I can probably make the leap that Anatole was also his father. The siblings had enough descendants that there should be at least a few relatives somewhere (here, maybe?) who would have that information. Alternately, does anyone know where in Louisiana I could locate birth or baptismal records which aren't available online?

I would appreciate any information that might help me figure this out.

On my granmother Hulda Bockenhagens tomb it is written Cousin. She also used Cousin on her social security. Hulda Bockenhagens granparents were Joseph K. Hains of Louisiana and Mary Alphonsina Castellanos, born in Havanna, Cuba. But her father was born in Spain and her mother in France.
Also Huldas parents were Arnold Bockenhagen, born in Germany and Rita Hains.

My late mother's grandfather on her mother's side was a William Howard Cozzens/Cousins of Hungtingdon (Cambria County), PA, who married Katherine Louisa Dudek/Dudak in 1908 and had my maternal grandmother, Mary Margaret Cousins/Cozzens in 1909 (d. 1936). (She was married to Bejanmin Cable 1890 (?) - 1945). Anyway, William's father is listed as Anderson Cozzens (wife Mary Margaret) on William and Katherine's marriage application. The only Anderson Cozzens I can located are two African-American fellows from VA, one born 1817 and the other born 1872 (maybe a grandson) in the 1880 census. There is also an Anderson Cozzens mentioned in the 1870 census for Cambria County, PA. I don't know if these are the same person or not. Would any of you have information on Anderson Cozzens/Cousins? Please let me know. The trail runs cold there. Thank you!
