Hi
Looking for any information on a family headed by John
COX(born @ 1786)and his wife Frances (Barterham) who moved from Northampton, Northamptonshire to Southwark,
London in about 1830s.
The only information I can find is records that a person has given to the Family Search site which indicates that they were married and had their children christened at St Peter's Northampton, Northamptonshire. My 3 x Grandfather was Charles
COX born in Northampton in 1821 who was also a Cordwainer/Shoemaker in Chelsea. John and Frances had that I can see 4 other children born in Northampton, Ann
COX who married James
Holloway and moved to Chelsea (also a Cordwainer), Daniel
COX,
Harriet COX and George
COX who moved to South
London and was a
Shoemaker.
Because of the lack of Northampton records on line I am dependent on the submitted material being correct, (live in the Outer Hebrides)though census records do indicate accuracy. Both John and Frances died before the 1851 census so I have no idea where they were born.
Does any of this ring a bell, do you have a
COX family from Northamptonshire who were shoemakers.
I also can not find any Frances BARTERHAM, born around the 1780 mark, name from marriage record, though this could be spelt differently.
Any help would be gratefully received, also does anyone know where I can obtain the St Peter's parish records on line or in CD format.
Regards
Debs
