Searching for any and all information related to
CHARLES CRONEA.
He gave his birthplace as Marseilles, France, but I was told by a genealogy researcher in France
"We can tell you that Cronia or Cronnia do not exist in France. However, CRONIER and CRONNIER exist in France, but only in the half North, especially in Ile-de-France (area of Paris), Picardie, Normandie.
You said that Charles Cronier was born in "Marseilles, France".However, is it really Marseille, the second city of France and quite important port (but located in the south) ?
There is a town named "MARSEILLES in BEAUVAISIS" which is in PICARDIE which would correspond more to the regions of origin of the Cronier families."

Mr WT BLOCK, a local (SE Texas) author and a historian, has given permission to link to his articles related to Charles Cronea:

-about Charles CRONEA's life:
http://www.wtblock.com/wtblockjr/charlie.htm

-about Historical Marker Dedication for Charles CRONEA at HIGH ISLAND, TX Cemetery:
http://www.wtblock.com/wtblockjr/high1.htm

-about the HOTSPUR, 1 of Jean LAFITTE's privateers:
http://www.wtblock.com/wtblockjr/hotspur.htm

Mr. BLOCK's home page is:
http://www.wtblock.com/wtblockjr/

Thank you,
Karen
