I am so very happy to meet you cousin. I am Beverly, Leonard's eldest daughter. I have been emailing my dear Uncle Bob but he doesn't know much. I am just now seeing this post 7yrs later. Was Great-Grandmother called Mary? There is so much about our family that I do not know and wish to.

Trying to figure out my GG Grandmother's maiden name I came across viable lead on a registry of Angela Cuozzo of Valva b. abt 1851 on the ship Burgundia on June 10th 1890 or Jan 10th. Does any one have any info on an Angela-Angelina or maybe an Elizbetta that went by Angela she may have a tie to a Generoso, Antonio, Rosa and Maria lived in Pennslyvania then NJ from 1895 until sometime after 1920 but before 1930.

Pasqual Cuozzo was born in Italy and his wife was Theresa. They lived in Massachusetts and later Montclair, Essex County, NJ. I am trying to determine if they had a son, Charles born about 1895 in Massachusetts. I think they arrived in the states around 1890 or so. Thank you!

I remember her speaking of her parents or maybe grandparents coming from Italy, somwhere from Campania (that is a region). I'm not sure which the city was. It could have been Avellino or maybe Senerchia tha I heard of going trohugh the posts.
And I know for sure that at the time she stayed in Italy she lived in a flat in via Zurigo in Milano.

summer 1992 i went there visiting her for three weeks.

Terri. Valva and Colliano are both in the province of Salerno. So your towns are close by. The cluster of names in your query is not familiar only Cuozzo. Have you gone to http://google.com and put in your towns of origins. Some of these towns actually have a web site with some genealogy attached. The other thing is to go on http://infobel.com which is a telephone directory for all over the world that I like using. Put in country, Italy and search "all" then you can do a quick search by putting in the last name and then the town, research all the names to see who pops up...you might find a cousin still over there. Also we are hoping the records for Salerno (by LDS Mormons) will be filmed this year for the Province of Salerno. When that happens research will be very easy. Good luck, no connection that I can see. You can go over to my web site at caprioconnections.com and check the cemetery link on the upper left hand side of the page. There are quite a few Cuozzo's listed in the headstone. I hope this helps in your search!

Alphonso Cuozzo and Domenicia were my grand parent, Michael Goodsell was my uncle. You must be my cousin Carols daughter, Robert Goodsell is my first cousin, assuming he is your uncle.

My grandfather is Joseph Cuozzo.

His parents, Joseph Cuozzo and Antoinetta DeMaria, were from Italy. Antoinetta's parents, Guglielmo DeMaria and Elizabetta D'Aiutolo, were born in Montecorvino, Pugliano, Salerno, Italy.

I do not know anything about the Cuozzo line, however, except that my grandfather and his brothers/sisters were brought up in Pennsylvania and later in New York / New Jersey. Is there any possibility that they may be related to your Cuozzo's?

My mother's mother was named Cuozzo and she came from Valva in Italy. She married a man name Joseph Sansone. He was a custom tailor who emigrated to America in the late 1880s. My mother was born in New Haven, CT, but lived her childhood years in New York, near Penn Station.

There is a dentist in New Jersey named Gary Cuozzo, also believed to be a Cuozzo from Valva.That is about all that I now know.

My mother in law is Filomena Cuozzo from Calabrito, Italy who moved to England in 1954. Her mother was Margarita Maria Cuozzo from Valva Italy, but we dont know the name of her father. Filomena has a brother Bruno who lives in Rome.

One of the message boards mentions the name Goodsell, this was the name of my great great grandfather who was born in Sussex in 1835.
