I am fairly certain one of the little girls in the photo is my grandmother! Mary Ethel Curry. She was adopted and so was her sister, Georgette, who died around age 15. They lived in Austin, Arkansas. I have a photo of Dr. James B Curry working in an operating room. Yes, he was killed in a car accident along with another doctor and maybe 3 nurses according to my aunt but I have not been able to find any hard evidence on that incident. I would love to know how Dr. Curry and his wife ended up in Arkansas and about the adoption of my grandmother and her sister. My father and aunt were always told their mother was born in Chicago but they do knot know when or where she was adopted by Dr. Curry. I would also love to see that photo someone has of the family in front of a house! According to my aunt, my grandmothers birth parents were from Ireland and her sisters birth parents might have been Indian.

Hi, I am looking for any information on my my paternal grand father, James Curry. I do not know much about him or any relatives, as he split up with my grandmother, Carol Browne, when my father, Gregory James Curry, was an infant & there was no further contact at all. I do know that he died from a heart attack in the 1960's at Swansea, NSW, on the way home from his mothers funeral. I believe they lived in the Sydney & Lake Macquarie area, possibly Adamstown. I think his mothers name may have been Mary Jane & his fathers may have been James? He served in the Australian Army. He may have had a sister that went by the name of Flo? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rebecca

I am the great grandson of Silas H. Curry, the grand son of Arthur Curry from Miller Cty. Missouri. I am researching Silas and Adeline (Davis) Curry. Jennie Curry Bear was my grandfather's sister and her family homestead a farm near Tuscumbia,Mo. As a child in the 50's I visited "Aunt Jenny's"farm and her grand daughter Kate Stark and husband Zack. Would be interested in the genalolgy tree of the Curry/Bear Family. A posting indicates there is a decendant of Fred Curry, my grandfathr's brother who I once met in Crocker, MO at his home. Would like to make contact with those family members. David Curry Hyatt - dhyatt@afco.net.

As to Silas H. Curry: Served with Capt. George's Independent Ohio Calvary (Pvt.) and as a Sgt. with the Ohio 146th Infantry Voluteers during the civil war. Arthur Curry borned in Ironton, OH in 1875 before moving with family to Miller Cty. MO in 1877.
Don't know if you are still on here, but here is what I have. In my family tree, Henry Curry is my g-g-g grandfather. Henry was born if 1806 in England. He married Nancy Bowling. One of their sons, William is my descendent. Thomas would be William's brother. However, my research has found that William, Thomas and a sister, Elizabeth is actually the children of Blevins Bowling who was married to Nancy first. Not sure what happened to Blevins at this time or how the children changed their names. The 1850 census has the children listed as Bowling, however the 1860 census lists them as Curry. There is a Tombstone marker in the Engine Cemetery in Manchester Kentucky with Tom Curry on it. Dated 1847-1940. Hope this helped. Or maybe just raised more questions. Good Luck.
Rick Curry
There are three kinds of DNA tests that are used for genetic genealogy.

1) Y-DNA is for the direct paternal line only: father to son. Females don't have Y-DNA.

2) mtDNA is for the direct maternal line only: mother to child. Males have mtDNA but they don't pass it on to their children.

3) Autosomal DNA is the tricky one. Both males and females have autosomal DNA and it is passed on randomly at each generation so it takes a lot of work to learn anything from an autosomal DNA test. Y-DNA and mtDNA are good for hundreds of years but autosomal DNA is good for only about 5 generations.

Our Last name was McNally. Currie was My great grandmothers last name. I don't know if our dna would help you. I have one living brother that could do the dna. We have thought about doing it for the McNally line. Don't know if his dna would work. If it does I would certainly share it with you.

My Great Grandmother was Mary Currie born in 1852 in Scotland came to America in 1880 lived in Idaho where she is buried. She married John C Smith. I don't think it is the same family because she spelled her name Currie. Her mother was Mary Meek and father John Currie.

I have been searching in vain for years to find information on MARY CURRY born about 1796 in Scotland. She came to Quebec Canada in 1820 and was living in Frampton, Quebec when she met and married my GGG Grandfather John Whitley from England. Do you have any information on Mary Curry?
Jean Hanson

Susannah Curry 1835 OH

Hi,
I am looking for information on Susannah Curry b.1835 in Preble, Monroe, OH. In the 1850 census she was listed in the household of John Curry aged 58 and Catherine Curry aged 42. I have seen other researchers who have John and Catherine in their trees, however Susannah is not mentioned in either one. In one of those trees Catherine is listed as John's wife, in the other she is listed as his daughter. I am confused as to whether John is Susannah's father or perhaps her uncle or some other relative, and how John is related to Catherine. It seems that John was born in PA and later moved to OH. Susannah married Richard Robson on 9/5/1864 in Wayne, IN.

Here is a list of the household in 1850:

John Curry	M	58
Catherine Curry	F	42
Robert Curry	M	29
Josiah Curry	M	28
Elizabeth Curry	F	23
Jane Curry	F	20
James Curry	M	19
Daniel Curry	M	18
Catherine Curry	F	16
Susannah Curry	F	15
Sarah Curry	F	13
Mary Curry	F	11
John Curry	M	9
Margaret Curry	F
Jerimiah Curry	M	4

It seems improbable that Robert and Josiah are Catherine's children due to her age at their time of birth. I would appreciate it if someone with access could look up Susannah. Or, maybe someone has come across her in their research, if so I could use help with her.

Here is a link to the tree that has Catherine as John's wife (no mention of Susannah):

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...

Here is a link to the tree that has Catherine listed as John's daughter(again no mention of Susannah):

http://records.ancestry.com/John_Curry_records.ashx?pid=7985...

Thank you for any help!
Jen
Charles W Curry, Marion Clyde Curry, Allen E Curry

I am having a hard time with this part of my family - Charles W. Curry born in Illinois about 1854. His wife is listed as a Mallie Curry. One of their sons, Marion Clyde Curry was my great grandfather. Doing some digging around in Marion's WWII draft card, he listed an Allen E Curry as someone who know his address "no matter what". I looked up Allen and his father is also a Charles Curry, but his mother's name was Mary E. Does anyone have any information listed on any of the Curry's listed above?

Thanks,
Erin

Curry

This is a long shot.

My great grandmother recently passed away. Before she died, she told me that the picture of the unknown man in her photo album is her daughter's biological father. The only information she gave me was that his name was Curry (she didn't spell it so it could be spelled wrong) and that he was a nice man. The story was that she was doing her part to make money for her family (street work) and Mr Curry was her 'client'. She got pregnant and had a daughter in April 1945 (my grandmother).

This is what i know. They lived in either Jacksonville or Springfield Illinois in 1946. I know that the nice man Mr Curry, was married at the time that he fathered a daughter (my grandmother). I know he was in the Army, the patch on his right shoulder is an "Army Service Force" patch.

I believe my great grandmother's name was Cole in 1946, but i could be wrong.

Any ideas?

Does anyone recognize the picture?

He passed away late 1800 or early 1900. I am looking for information on Robert and Elizabeth. Is anybody out there researching this family?

Names and dates match, as do locales in Ireland, but these are common names for Co. Antrim. Locales in North America do not match.
My g,g,g,g grandfather Robert Curry was employed at "The Grove", Co. Antrim, at the farm of an unknown Scotsman with the surname of Parker or Roc. Robert Curry was born in about 1825 and emigrated to Round Lake, Ill. in 1860 after marrying the farmer's daughter, Margaret in 1856. Their first son was Samuel, and all subsequent 1st borns' are named Sam or Robert, in alternating generations.
