Damian and /or Straza family

im looking for info on my grandparents. my grandfather was Michael Damian born in transylvania romania in 1896(from what i know) and he married my grandmother Mary Ann Straza who was born in omaha nebraska in 1915. i know that michael damians mothers name was sophia(not sure of the spelling) and that he had a brother named danny. Mary Ann Straza had a brother who died as an infant, I beleive her fathers name was John, but not sure. and i know she grew up as an orphan. I was told her mother went back to romaina and she stayed here with her father who was unable to care for her. this is all i know, but my family really did not know too much. any help or info would be very much apprciated! my kids ask me questions about our ancestors and i have no answeres for them....

I am traveling to Ungerei (Gergeschdorf)(Gergelyfalva) Romania in a few weeks to see my families village. Before WWI the village was in fact part of Hungary, it changed names to ungerei after WWI. I am going to visit all the cemeteries when I am there. I have never seen a Damian surname on pictures of gravestones from Ungerei however. My great-great grandfather and others from the village did list Sharon, PA as a destination on immigration papers however.

Damian

Looking for any connections to the Damians in Sharon PA. They originaly came from Ungerei Romania, sometimes mistaken by the census taker as Hungary. They worked in the Tin Mills in Sharon. George (or Joe) Damian's father died in 1916 and his mother Ana Manarazan (later decifered as Morrison) married again, Alex Craciun (decifered as Christian or Christmas) They had one child together Maria and Ana died in 1921. The Damian children (George and Annie) were sent to Romania, and later they (Alex and Maria) returned to Romania where they lived until their deaths. Any info on any of their ancestors or decendant would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I was looking for a relative of mine and found one that may be yours. I have a birth cert from Buffalo dated Jan 28, 1897 for a Julius Damian son of Franc Damian and Anna. Frank is listed as born in Poland and is age 29 and is a laborer. Anna is listed as age 19 and having had one other living child. Is this your relative? I found it because it is so clost to my relative also born on that date in Buffalo to a Frank and Anna Domion. The child's name was Bronas ro Bronaslaw. My Frank was also from Poland. If this is your relative do you want a scan image of the Birth Cert?
He is Austrian and I thought she may have been too, but perhaps she was a member of the Damians from the New York area but I have no idea - I have not done any research since last year since I got several big hits on my side of the family that I have been "fleshing out"...

Any one have any Verdoniks listed in their Damian line?

Christie
LaPurpura@aol.com

HI!

I am afraid I won't be much help, I don't know anything about the Damian Family (yet). They are my husbands side of the family and I am just getting started - but the surely are related some way - that is not a common name I would think -

If you want to, you can reach me at LaPurpura@aol.com
My husband's grandfather married a Mary Damian somewhere around 1900 to 1906 in New York - do you possibly have any Verdoniks mixed in with your Damians? My emailaddress is LaPurpura@aol.com

I'm looking for James Damian. He was born around 1920. He lived in the New York city area in the 40's and 50's and worked in the shoe manufacturing industry as a leather cutter. I believe he had a brother named Dominic. If you have any information that might be helpful please contact me.
