Philip Dietrich from Darmstadt or Zweibrücken

Philip Dietrich immigrated to North America (now USA) on the Ship Neptune which arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 30 Sept 1754. The ship sailed from Rotterdam and the passengers were supposedly from Darmstadt and Zweibrücken.

Philip Dietrich was born 27 Dec 1725 somewhere in what is now Germany. He supposedly married in 1748 to Elizabeth UnknownLN who was born in 1726. Philip and his wife might have been accompanied by two children; Jacob, born 17 Aug 1750 and Magdalena, born 20 May 1753. Philip was the son of Wilhelm Emanuel Dietrich/Dieterich who was born about 1680.

Is anyone familiar with this family?

Lester Dietterick
les570 at hotmail dot com

Darmstadt-Mayer in Milwaukee late 1800's

We think Susan Darmstadt married Louis? Francis Mayer and lived in Milwaukee in the mid to late 1800's. We know their daughter Anna Mathilda Mayer (b 16 Sept 1874) was married on 29 Nov 1890 in Superior Wisconsin to Wm. Dalton Dwyer (b 22 Sept 1859). We are descendents of Anna & William, but we know nothing about Susan Darmstadt and her husband. Help?

As in my reply to Jim, I just found her name. My grandfather was Catholic, so I can only assume at this point that one or both of his parents were as well. I plan on researching her more fully. Thanks for your response.

Hello Mike,
My name is Inge Darmstadt and I live in Holland. I'm curious to find out more about my ancestors but I don't know where to start. My grandfather was Jan Darmstadt and he was born on january 16, 1897. He died in 1986. He was married tot Mechtilda Stox. As I recall he lost his parents when he was just a little boy (about 12 yearsw old). He had a brother who drowned as a little boy and a sister who didn't get married (her name was Ella). I don't know anything about his parents.
Jan en Mechtilda got four boy's: ?? ,Theo, Charles and Piet. Piet was my father, he died at may 3rd, 1995.
Theo has no children, Charles has 2 daughters and a son.
As far as I know, there are no other "Darmstadt"s in Holland.
Theo died in 1998, Charles is still living, but we've lost contact.
Can you tell me anything ?? If you need more information then I will do my best to get it.
Thank you !!

Inge van de Laak-Darmstadt (geb. 15-06-1965)

Darmstadt

Like Jim, I'd be interested in any additional information you may have.

My Sieben line which came to Chicago from Ebersheim, Germany has Darmstadt cousins, and as such, I have cataloged many of the Darmstadt lines which connect to my Siebens in Ebersheim up to about 1880.

Roeder is not a name which appears in Ebersheim, but since from your posting it appears the Roeder/Darmstadt marriage occured in IN, it's perhaps irrelevant.

If you can find the names of the parents of Veronica, perhaps through the church records of where their marriage took place, perhaps it might match up with my Darmstadts in Ebersheim or Jim's in Nackenheim.

Were your Darmstadts Catholic of Lutheran? Although it perhaps may be insignificant since my Sieben was Catholic prior to and after his marriage in St. John's EV in LaPorte. (his wife was Lutheran.)

Just for your information, in the LaPorte County Plat Books and Atlas, I find no mention of any Darmstadt nor Roeder in the indexes. That does not mean they were not there though, just unfound through simple methods.
