Old German script handwriting - kurrent

I'm looking for a reference image that shows the months hand written in kurrent.

I'm trying to figure out this particular "month" in this image. I know it is the 6th on the month in the year 1821, but that center "month" word is giving me a problem. Appears to start with an "S" so thinking it could be September.

Anyone know or have a good visual reference for the months of the year written in kurrent?

This is a very old post, but my gg grandmother's name was Lorinda Seaton and her mother was Eleanor Dates--seems like a possible connection.

Eleanor was born in New York in 1813, was in Indiana in 1850 and in Phelps County, Missouri, by 1857 where she died in 1902.

I do not know her parents' names.

I'm fairly new at this - but have some family photos and stories. My father was Jimmy D. Dates, descended from the Moravia, NY Dates. The farest back I can track is James Duane Dates, who was married to Margaret "Maggie" A. Maxam (also of New York). James was the son of Samual W. Dates (abt 1811) and Catherine (no last name known). They had about 8 or nine kids. Does this sound like a possible connection?

They had three children, Walter Vivian Clark, Mary Clark and Charles M. Daisy was born in Auburn in 1868? or abouts. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for information on the DATES family from New York, and possibly from New Jersey.

Eleanor Dates was born 10 Dec 1813 in New York, d. 11 Apr. 1902 in Phelps County, MO. She married Samuel Seaton 21 Mar 1833 in Cayuga County, NY.

The story I was told is that the Dates family moved to Wisconsin , settled there and established a small town, owning all the business in the small town. Eleanor was supposed to have met the Seatons there, but that is not correct as Eleanor married in New York, had children in PA, IN and then MO.

She was in Salem, Pulaski, IN in the 1850 Census; and in Cold Spring, Phelps, MO in 1870 to 1900; other family members are there through 1930 Census. I have been unable to find them in the 1860 Census.

Hello out there!
I'm trying to get over the dry spell I seem to be having. I have run across the following:
Elizabeth (Betsy) Dates (1812-1888) husband William Jewell, her parents were William Dates Jr (abt1777-1850) and Christina (Caster), her grandparents William Dates Sr. and Elizabeth (Merritt). Unfortunately, the only location I have is for Elizabeth (Betsy) which places her in Pennsylvaina when she marries William. If any of this information here sounds familiar contact me, I also remember my late mother saying the Dates name was changed at one point way, way, way back.
Thank you
Dannele
savantag@yahoo.com
Re: Grant Leo, Edwin Dewitt, Harry Charles, Ella, Howard Dates

My 2nd great grand aunt was Mary D. CURE. Her brother Amos Elias CURE was my 2nd great grandfather. I have been at a brickwall with this family for a couple of years. I had no idea whether Amos had any siblings or not. A great Aunt wrote an excallent history of what she recalled about the CURE family, she did it all from memory though. She had Amos's dad down as James Dewitt CURE. That was a major stumbling block.
Just recently I was able to obtain the obituary of my 2nd great grandmother Martha CURE, she was Amos CURE's wife. The obit. is from 1935 and it was printed in a North Dakota newspaper. It noted that an Ella NEVINS, Amos's niece, from Sidney, Montana, was in attendance. I was able to obtain some great info on Ella from the MonDak Heritage Center in Sidney, Montana. Ella was the daughter of Charles and Mary DATES and was born in Merrillan, Jackson County, Wisconsin, March 11, 1884. She was married there also. Her middle name was CURE. Her mother died when she was young.
This helped to break my brickwall, I have now deduced that Mary DATES was Mary CURE the daughter of Dewitt CURE and sister of Amos Elias CURE. From Barbara's other postings I am almost certain that I have the puzzle put together.

Glad I found your message. My (late) father in law, George C. Dates, was born in 1909, I believe, and died in 1976 in a private plane crash. He was a land developer who had been working for K. Hovnanian Enterprises in NJ. His second wife was my mother in law, Kathryn (Kit) Marnell and he came from Wisconsin! Unfortunately, neither my husband, Gary, nor his mother remember much more. But this sounds like a connection! Maybe his mother's name would ring a bell. . .

Dates in Sterling etc.

Likely, that all Dates' are related. My
Dad, and my Grandfather lived in Red Creek.
My Dads' name was John, and his father was
Frank(Franklin). My Aunt Nancy gave my mother a history of their family, and the Dates orginally were in New Jersey, about the time of the revolutionary war, and their name had been changed from Dietz to Dates.
Dietz is a German name, and primarily in the
state of Hesse. This is just a guess, however,
at that time, England had the Hessian soldiers from Germany fight on their side in
New Jersey, and I am wondering if perhaps the name was changed to conceal their connection with the Hessians who fought on Englands side. Didn't Donald have a jewelry store in Wolcott?? I left New York early, and never went back. My parents retired here in Florida, and our whole family is in Florida now. Most likely we are distantly related. If you want to contact me personally you may do so at>>>>>>>>>>>>
<a href="http://regencygfts@giftworldnet.com" target="_blank">http://regencygfts@giftworldnet.com
I have an email there, so have a nice day, and take care of yourself.
