My name is days,I am also looking for a george days supposed to have married a lydia lees,ther son ernest married a louisa guest in scotland 1883,her parents lived in warwickshire and he was a equestrian/clown,george days was a merchant seaman according to ernests wedding certificate,Ive racked my brain trying to find george & lydia & ernest if you wish have alook at my tree days/daze,the name changed from daze to days

My father has a brother named Ozie. He is the only living sibling of sixteen children. He is currently living in State Park in Columbia, SC. His father's name was Lucius Days, and his mother was Manni Days. Contact me if this sounds like the right Days family.

Sarah Walton is Thomas Days sister. I have not been able to pinpoint their family or christenings.

Dear Lorraine,

I have researched my tree and the name of DEYES in Hull and Beverley and leeds all Yorkshire.
I recently found that the name gets loosened in some instances and gets either spoken and recorded as DAYES instead. In some cases the DEYES person is baptised as such and then gets married as DAYES. I have various forms of the surname and am sure that they are all the same DEYES family.

I recently learned that my great grandmother Mary (Maria) Days was born in Ohio between 1822-1825. She married Michael Hollocher in St. Louis MO in 1838 and died in 1875 in St. Louis, MO. I know all about her after these dates, but nothing about her before 1822. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

So far as I know at present, I am not aware of any John, but, that is not to say there isn't a connection. There are some Dayes that I don't have offspring names for, and there very well could be a John in any of the branches that I have not gotten into yet.

I have no information on the Day(s) family except his name was FRED DAY or DAYS. He was married to Maggie Burgess DAY. The family is Black and I only found them once living in or near Vicksburg, Mississippi in Issaquena County on the 1930 census. They may have had one son named EARL who may have died in his teen years. I went to Vicksburg but was unable to find a marriage license. Fred Day died the exact year unknown. Maggie sold her property and left town with a man whose name may have been Steve Robinson. He then told Maggie's family she died and he buried her; he only told the family of her death after she was buried. I am hoping that FRED DAY's family has photo or can share some information on Maggie.

I am trying to locate where in Georgia my great grandfather's family was living in 1850, and trying to confirm if his parents names were Moses Day and Celia Reynolds Day.

In an index of surnames for the 1850 census, I found these page numbers 62B-138A-153B-154A for "Day" families in the Troup County Georgia 1850 Census. If anyone has access to these page numbers, would you please see if there is a baby one or two years old or less named James Day listed?

Sorry Hans but the Days family I am researching are from Germany. In fact, I do not think that Days is the original spelling because it is not a German name. It must have sounded something like Days when pronounced and with the heavy accent that is what it became. It is odd though, that I have a George and Catherine in my family line also, as well as, William. Popular names at that time I assume. I wish you success in your research.

Joseph DAYS, sr. and his wife Julia ROSE (Rose may be her middle name) came to MA from the Azores in the late 1800's, they settled in Provincetown. He died August 24, 1936. She died After 1949. She was born Flores, Azores.

Well, I guess that would be...fourth or fifth cousin.

Do you know if your grandfather, Joseph Days had a brother named Philip? I believe he did. Also a sisters Catherine and Mary. I have a photograph of Joseph Days in his World War 1 uniform and several other pictures of the family as well.
