      <description>Mrs. Minnie F. Whitesel&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;A former resident of Barree township, Huntingdon county, died Monday evening at 9:30 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Fitzgerald of 624 East Logan avenue, Altoona, following an illness of two weeks.  She was a daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Whitesel) DeArmitt and was born in Huntingdon county, Dec. 7, 1879.  Surviving are two sons, Clarence Whitesel of Alexandria and George Whitesel of Huntingdon, R. D., and the daughter, at whose home she died, and four grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Wallace Quinn of Altoona and Mrs. James Roach of Cambridge, O., and Herbert DeArmitt of Queens Park, L. I.  She had made her home with her daughter the past two years.  She was a member of the Manor Hill Methodist church.  Friends will be received at the Temple funeral home in Petersburg after 12 o’clock noon Wednesday.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Altoona Mirror, 20 February, 1945.&lt;br&gt;</description>

      <description>My husband traces his DeArmitt ancestry back to John DeArmitt who came to Pennsylvania from Ireland.  I don't have my notes handy,but I believe his son was Barnabas.  I will be happy to give you whatever information I have.  However, I don't know anything about Berry Hil DeArmitt.  There was a John DeArmitt in my husband's family in the 1800's--he moved from PA to Indiana and was a farmer.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
