My father Eugene John Deja had a sister named Delores who married a Chet Novak, I
m not sure if spelling is correct

Annie or Anna was born 1851 according to her tombstone in Union Cemetery, near Oak Harbor, Ohio. She emmigrated in 1872 according to the 1900 census.

My name is Kenneth Lenz, my mother was Anna Deja (died in 1994, her father was Bernard Deja, who immigrated from Danzig Germany, now Poland). This father was Jacob Deja. My mother was a first cousin of William Welner (Welna), her aunts (Francis and Mary) married two Welna brothers and livied in Minnesota.

No, Veronica was first mrried to Bernard Deja, after Bernard died, Veronica remarried to Michael G. She already had ( oldest to youngest) Edmund, Bernard, Elenor, Raymond,and Leonard..then she and Michael had Ralph & sylvester.

I wonder if there's a connection...my family tree includes Deja coming to Cleveland, Ohio from Poland in the late 1880's, early 1900. My grandmother is a Deja (although most of the family changed to Deia.

It's Jozef and Anna Deja. Do you think there's a connection?

Rachel, your grandfather is my Uncle Gene. My Dad was Lawrence. We used to go to your grandparents home often. I remember when the home was added onto because all of the kids were getting bigger in number and bigger in size. More bedroom space was needed. We used to buy butter because they had a cow and made butter from the milk. Selling our eggs, to family was one of the 'side' incomes we had. We would pick cherries off the trees to eat while we were playing outside. Michael and I had lockers next to each other at Lakeshore HS when they built the new building. Dan was in my sister's class. I think Jim was a year older than the sister between us. Recently got some more info on your family from Mary at Aunt Helen Bayman's funeral this summer. Your Mom is Patsy? She is 3 years older than I. Family calls me Lorrie.

Yep we are probably related. My grandfather is Eugene son of Frances (Frank) I recall an uncle John. The Deja's in my family are in Berrien Co. Baroda to be exact. Eugene son of Frank married Helen Rhodes Deja and they had 11 children in Baroda. Most attending Lakeshore HS in Stevensville. -Rachel

In response to Jane. This is my great grandfather, Frances Deja, his son Eugene is my grandfather. Wife Helen (Rhodes) Deja. They had eleven children with my mother being the eldest born in 1942 Patricia. Then there's Michael, Daniel, Mary, Eugene, Judith, Joseph, John, Veronica, Elizabeth (deceased), William. I have the birth order wrong.

Who's your mother? I grew up in Berrien Co by the way.

I did not realize that Piotr and Belter had a connection. My grandmother on my mother's side was Piotr while Belter came from my father's side. It would be an amazing story if somehow they were all linked. Thank you for the information. I am still struggling to find information on my family line, there isn't good record keeping and all of my grandparents except for one have passed. I appreciate your assistance.

I am trying to find a Franz Deja , Parents were Michael/Miche & Anastasia Deja. Arrived in America in 1881. Also has sister Martha? which was 11 months old at time of arrival. Place of Origan PreuBen . I found Michael & Anna in 1900 census in Milw. Wi but can't find where Franz and/or Martha went. If anyone has any of these names in their Deja tree, Please contact me. Hi! My great-grandfather Johann Deja lived in Chicago. He married my great-grandmother Anna in 1872 and they moved to Michigan about 1880. He was born in 1846 and there is some supposition that his mother's maiden name was Becker or Beckner. How about maybe Belter? Do you have any dates or children born to your gm Belter and Jan Deja? Jan and Johann could be one and the same? Thanks Dee

Rachel, I'm a Deja originally from Stevensville. My grandfather was Frank and that sure is close to 'Francis'. As far as I know all the Deja's in SW MI are related. Have been working on family trees for nearly 40 years. I'm still searching for origins beyond my great-grandfather Johann (John) who moved into Lincoln township around 1880.

Hi, you know, I only guessed on the year of birth. Since John was born in the 40's, I was assuming she would have been too. That's wierd that you say born and raised in WI, because so was my father, John. Does your sister have a son by the name of Gary Edward? I have a Frances Deja, b. Aug 1879 IL. Parents: David and Anna Deja, both born Pol/Ger. Children in 1880 IL census: Rosa, Frank, John, Francisca. 1900 MI census has David dead, and Anna as head, with children: John, Frances, Katie, Anna, and Julia. Shows the mother emig. 1872, so we won't find them on the 1870 census.

Wow, I just read all the names you have here and I know most of the names but alot of off dates. My sister's name was Linda Deja but she was born in 1953. I'm sure it is not the same one your looking for but wondering if there is any connectin in the Deja. My family was Deja bron and raised in wi, but I am frist now strating to try to find information on my fathers side which is Deja. Just thought it was coincindental.

Hello, I am looking to learn more about my fathers side of the family, and we are from Wisconsin...I don't know where his line came from before that. His name is Leonard Deja. I know he had brothers named Raymond & Benny. There are more siblings but I have to call one of my older siblings to get more info. Just saw your post andwondering if you have any of these names in any searching you have done? My father died in 1972 . We lived in milw., south milw, cudahay..ect... Thanks
