who was the mother of Ebenezer Delano?!?

In "Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to N.E. 1620-1633, Vols. I-III", immigrant ancestor Philip Delano has a child Ebenezer Delano who married, say 1670, Elizabeth Sampson.

Yet, at http://www.langeonline.com/Heritage/martha.htm, which purports to copy info from "Mayflower Families
Through Five Generations, Volume Sixteen, Part 1, John Alden" -- it says that Martha Simmons married first, at Duxbury, 29 December 1699 (VR, 307; MD, 9:109), EBENEZER DELANO, son of Philip and Elizabeth (Clark) Delano"

So -- who was Ebenezer's mother? Elizabeth Clark or Elizabeth Sampson?

Thanks,

Edward L. Delano

I am searching for any information on Edward L Delano. He was born in 1851 in NY and married Hattie Lane around 1880. They had 3 children only 1 of whom survived to adulthood, her name was Cora Delano(married Bernard Larsen). I was able to locate a census record from 1910 that places both Edward and Hattie in South Amboy NJ. By 1920 Hattie is widowed, so Edward must've passed between 1910 and 1920. Other than that I have nothing. The family does tell me the Edward and Hattie were quite well off and thier money was able to keep the whole family afloat during the great depression. Any information would be great appreciated.

I am a decendent of the DeLano family. My mother was Janet Mae Fleming, daughter of Mina DeLano, whose family home was across the creek via the swinging bridge on Route 3, near Veto Lake, and Clarence Fleming, whose home was across the road from the "Fleming Mall" in Fleming.

My Grandmother, Mina DeLano, had a sister, Mary who married a Trautner, and I think a brother named Pit, and others who I never met.

Mom had a cousin (I think) named Mary Jane DeLano who taught school in Marietta, and in McConnelsville.

I have pictures of Zoe, Zeb, and Louella, and would share. I have heard mom mention Loring, and Louella long ago. I am very interested in this family tree.
Kathryn Jane Shaw Pettit

Pictures of Tamer Hoare

I have a copy of a picture of a man with the name Tamer Hoare written on the back. This picture appears to have been taken in Ashtabula, Ohio. An additional picture of the same man (or one baring strong resemblance to)has a lot on illegible writing on the back but includes the names Mrs. Ella Hoare & Francis L Hoare, with the places Cooper & Kalamazoo Michigan also written on the back. This picture was taken in Conneaut, Ohio.
According to the small amount of research I did, (Ella Parker) Hoare married George Hoare in Cooper Township, Kalamazoo, MI in 1875. Her parents were Edwin Parker and Adaline Delano. Francis L. Hoare was their son.
If anyone knows who Tamer Hoare might be and/or wants a copy of these pictures, please let me know. These photos appear to have been in the possession of my cousin Glenn Leeper Sr. at one time. I would like to figure out the connection.

John Delano m 20 Jan 1833 Sagacahoc Co, ME to Catherine Gould

Searching for information of descendants of John Delano, b. 20 Jan 1808, (of Lincoln Co., ME) and Catherine Gould b. 24 Sep 1814 in Woolwich, Sagadahoc Co. ME. John Delano may be son of Thomas Delano and Abigan Larry. Catherine Gould is dau of Nathaniel Gould and Mary Carlisle.

John and Catherine (Gould) Delano had 10 children; 3 died in infancy. Three sons (Lewis Gould Delano; Charles Turner Delano; and Charles Turner Delano) said to have drowned in 1855,

The children who lived to become adults were:

1. Mary Abigail Delano b. 04 Jul 1838 in Somerset Co., ME. She married James Edwin Young in Dec. 1854 in Sagadahoc Co,., ME. One child: Carrie Lizetta Young b. abt 1858 in Masssachusetts. In the 1870 census the family was in Cambridge, Middesex Co., MA. James beleived to have died in 1876; Mary Abigail in 1897 in Boston, but have not been able to find Mary Abigail or her daughter, Carrie Lizetta Young after the 1870 census.

2. Augusta Jane Delano b. 03 May 1840 in Somerset Co., ME. She married Joshua Keene in 1857 in Bath, Sagadahoc Co., ME. Joshua Keene is said to have died in 1872. They had one son, Franklin Augustus Keene, b. abt Dec 1858 in Sagadahoc Co., ME. In the 1870 census, Augusta Jane (Delano) Keene was living with her parents in Cambridge, Middlesex, MA. Her son, Franklin Augustus, is listed in the household of his mother's sister and her husband, James and Mary Abigail (Delano)Young. No record can be found of Augusta Jane (Delano) Keene or her son, Franklin Augustus Keene (who may have died in 1886) after the 1870 census.

3. Frances Anderson Delano b. 22 Oct 1851 in Sagadahoc Co., ME, married William Montgomery Palmer on 10 Mar 1870 in Philadelphia, PA. According to other researchers, Frances Delano Palmer died in 1884 in Boston and her husband, William Palmer died in 1896 in Philadelphia. They had two children:
(1) Franklin Woodbury Palmer b. March 1872 in Philadelphia, and is supposed to have married Lillie Catherine Weiss in about 1894 in Philadelphia. Franklin W. Palmer was listed with his parents in Philadelphia in the 1870 census but I have been unable to find him in any census after 1870.
(2) Annie Frances Meller Palmer, b. in 1883. No record found of her in any census, but she may have married before the 1900 census.

4. George Woodbury Delano b. Feb 18 1854, married Mary Bean Ham in 1885 in Boston. I found George and Mary Delano in the 1900 and 1910 census reports in Wakefield, Carroll Co., New Hampshire.

Would appreciate any information about the reported drowning of the three Delano sons in 1855; and the death of John Delano and his wife, Catherine Gould Delano, who both are supposed to have died in Boston (John possibly in 1882 and Catherine in 1892).

Would also appreciate any information about Mary Abigail Gould, her husband, James Edwin Young and their daughter Carrie Lizeta Young; Augusta Jane Delano, her husband Joshua Keene and their son Franklin Augustus Keene; Frances Anderson Delano, her husband William Montgomery Palmer and their children, Franklin Woodbury Palmer and Annie Frances Meller Palmer; and the date of death of George Woodbury Delano and his wife Mary Bean Ham.

Will be happy to share information I have on the family of John Delano and Catherine Gould and information I have on the parents and siblings of Catherine Gould.
Jennie Delano (married 1885 KS) Harry E Whitaker

(newspaper clipping)

Delano – Whitaker Wedding

A large and fashionable company assembled at the residence of C. W. II Delano Tuesday evening to witness the nuptial ceremony of his daughter, Miss Jennie Delano, one of Nickerson’s most popular young ladies, to Harry E. Whitaker, proprietor of the Register. Promptly at half past eight o’clock the young couple attended by Miss Fannie Guild, of Sterling and Will Delano, took their places in the front parlor, and the rev. Mr. Guild of Sterling, performed the marriage ceremony, prefaced by a few touching and appropriate remarks and the “Twain were made one Flesh”. The bride looked very lovely in a costume of white, with lace over-dress, and the groom as dignified and composed as need be. After the ceremony the guests were invited to partake of an excellent collation prepared for the occasion. The bride and grooms cake were then cut, each guest supplied with a slice to “dream on’. The lawn was illuminated with headlights and a platform erected for the dancers, and when we bade them adieu many feet were tripping gaily to the merry strains of the violin and piano. The ARGOSY tenders them its best wishes and may it prove to both a “PHAT TAKE” and may their
Joys be many
Sorrows few,
The $ $ plenty

Nickerson Argosy
Nickerson, Reno County, Kansas
August 26, 1885
page – front *** column – 4

<
