Greetings possible relative (s)...my name is Darius Johnson (McMillan) and I am the great great grandson on Alice Demery McMillan. Alice was married to Troy McMillan of Bladen, NC and later moved to Broxton Georgia. Alice was the daughter of Allen Demery (Dimery) and Sarah (Blanks) Dimery. My great great great father Allen's mother name was Rebecca Dimery who was born in 1780 and died in 1850. Allen was married to Sarah Blanks and had 6 children: Alice, Alfred, Augus, Martha, John and Emeline. It is also believed that Alice had a twin brother name Allen. Sarah Blanks (Allen Dimery's wife) parents were Alfred Blanks Sr and Sarah (we believe her last name was Chavis or Chavers). If any of this information sounds familiar to you or you know the particulars, please reply to dariusjohnson08@cox.net. Our family believe we are related to the many Demerys (Dimerys) of the Demery Settlement of Horry County or Dog Bluff South Carolina. We have relatives that still reside in the Bladen , Elizabethtown NC area. I also have a family tree on ancestry by the name of McMillan Family Tree (dariusjohnson99) if you would like to view its content.

Thanks for your time and information in advance.

Hope to hear from you soon...

Darius Johnson

David Demery's dad John Demery (1779) and his granddad John Demery (1760) were both from North Carolina, although I believe that the family was originally from England and settled in Virginia upon arriving in the United States.
I have info on this family, Harriet and Charles were my mothers mothers fathers parents, but with everyone naming the kids after them, this may come further down than them. There was a name change from Desmarais to Demery. The Harriet I have is Favell, look under Titameg's children webpage, then in the book - she comes down directly from Titameg and John Favell Jr. - looks like from the dates she your Harriet could be the sister of my grandmother - Florence. her parents were Michel Desmarais and Isabella Sinclair - Isabella's father William has been called Metis - but also there is info he was from Orkney, Scotland so we are not sure. Isabella's mother Elizabeth Anderson also had a father from Orkney and her mother was Metis. You will see that there is cree in Titameg and the other wives coming down from that line. Let me know if this matches up to what you have.

She married a few times before marrying William E. Waldie in the late l800s. Does this ring any bells.

Thank you
BGillen

Schoonover
and had ten children, mo mother the youngest.
They had land in Chester Montana, Liberty County, but
lost it during the depression.
