Derbyshire (surname) - Lilian
My paternal great grandparents were Josiah & Margaret Ann (nee Turner). They had 7 surviving children: William, John (Jack), Alice, Matthew, Caroline, Margaret Ann & Peter.
The story in the family is that they also adopted a daughter called Lilian who married a Sidgreaves and moved to Blackpool. Indeed, Peter's younger daughter, Lilian (now deceased) is supposedly named after her and she said she visited the adopted Lilian with her father when she was a child.
Does anyone know anything about Lilian please?
