Martin DeWitt, 1720-1793, VA-SC
I am researching Martin DeWitt, son of Charles & Mercy DeWitt. He was born in 1820 in Fredericksburg, Orange Co, VA. He married in VA twice, had numerous children, and moved to SC before 1760. He and his second wife both died 25 Dec 1793.
My question is how did they die? I've been told they died in a house fire, but no one has been able to give me a source for this.
All help would be appreciated, even guesses, speculations, whatever.
