J L Dewitt Jr - Artist

I am trying to locate some information about J L Dewitt Jr. He was an artist probably around the 1940's (+/- 20 years). He did wonderful pencil portraits. I believe he may have lived in the northeast or mid-atlantic states. Can someone identify a grandfather perhaps?
