The Old Shiloh Burying Ground now known as the Shiloh Presbyterian Church cemetery is located one mile southeast of Grover, NC and dates to the battle of Kings Mountain during the American Revolution. Shiloh is one of the oldest cemeteries in old Lincoln County, North Carolina and in old York County, South Carolina.

Family names represented at the Old Shiloh Burying Ground are: Christmas, Crow, Dillingham, Dover, Etters, Estress, Gordon, Hambright, Hardin, Harry, Holmes, Howser, McCarter, Morrow, Patterson, Price, Randall and Williams.

Shiloh is now under the wing of the Historic Shelby Foundation for tax-deductible contributions for the restoration (repair) of this very historic cemetery. There is great need for major maintenance of the cemetery and grave marker repairs for these ancestors.

Will you help with a contribution to save Shiloh out of respect for our family roots and for the cemetery as a whole?

Yes, I know your proud Dillingham lineage :-) I was responding to an anonymous post by someone about the house. I do not always have time to go searching for information they might have posted and you, of course, know of my 26 plus years involvement in researching the family worldwide that absorbs so much of my time.

Vicky and I made our 12th trip to the US in October and had another great reception from the members of the family we met.

Dave; Actually when I was first accepted to Dillingham World, I explained that my wife's 3rd great grandfather was Absalom Dillingham. I did post some info to Dillingham World at the time; but due to circumstances, I have not been able to place much, if any time to my genealogy search. Hopefully over the winter, I will be able to do more research & participate more.

I believe I am a relative. My grandmother was a Dillingham from Cape Cod. They arrived in America in 1638. I hope to stay at the house one day.

Hello, I am putting together a few public web albums of old family photos that I need help in identifying. These photos are of my Tennessee family and their families. My great grandparents were John Montgomery Keeton and Katie Jane Matthews Keeton and John Thomas Napier and Sallie Elizabeth Keller Napier. I will list other family surnames later in this message. The pictures are from several different lines and several different states. I am sending out the link to every family member whose email address that I have as well as posting it to message boards. Please feel free to send me any additional email addresses of anyone that you think may want to view these albums. Or you can forward this email with the links to them as the albums are public. Right now I have two albums on the web. I am in the process of having about 190 negatives made into prints. WWhen I get these back, I will scan and upload them into an album. I am looking for information pertaining to William Dillingham born abt 1835 as per the 1880 U.S. Census, Ludington, MI. He wife's name was Prudence Dodge and there is an 8 mos. old child named Charles M. Also, there is a brother of Wm. named Charles S. Dillingham and his wife is Sarah on the previous pg. Chas' 3 year old son is Charles S.
I know Prudence wasn't with Wm. any more than 15 years but I need to find his ancestry since he is the father of my gggrandfather Charles Merton who changed his name to Merton Charles Ball. Thanks

I have an unsourced email stating that three daughters of Thomas J Gearhart 1781-1850 m. Hannah Allen 1783-1850, married three sons of the Rev Vachel Dillingham 1777-1842 m. Eilizabeth Estes Evans 1780-1856.

Does anyone have confirmation of these marriages and know which daughters married which sons?

I have replied to your email account and have posted on this page previously about Ralph. As you have not contacted me I can only assume that you do not want the information that I have. I know members of the related families personally, they attended the first worldwide Dillingham Reunion and I visited your 3 x great granfather's grave with them. The lineage goes back to 1680.

I run the Dillingham Group on Facebook (614 members) and have been researching the Dillingham family worldwide for almost 26 years.

If you need a reference then I am sure many of my friends will provide one for me. However, you may already have the answers you need.

Wm. Dillingham's bro. was Charles S. born 1845 and married

This ws my great great grandmother. She was married to Esau Howard of Wooton, KY. Unfortunately, anyone who remembers her is gone. The story is that she went to prison for murdering someone. According to my research, she died in Perry Alabama but that could be a typo and supposed to be Perry Co, Ky. If anyone hs any info, I would greatly appreciate it!

Rancher, Civic Leader Tom Dillingham Dies

ENID - Tom G. Dillingham, director of the Oklahoma Public Expenditures Council, is
dead at age 65.

Dillingham, who owned a number of ranches in Oklahoma, Colorado and
New Mexico, founding partner in a statewide insurance agency and a
long-time civic leader, died in a Dallas hospital late Wednesday.

One of the Dillingham ranches, a 60,ooo-acre spread in southeaster
Colorado, was sold in 1966 for more than $1.3 million.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday in the First
Presbyterian Church in Enid, where he was a member for 50 years and
was serving as an elder at the time of his death.

In addition to his many business interests, Dillingham served as a
trustee and advisory board member of St Mary's Hospital in Enid and
was a trustee to Phillips University in the Garfied County seat.

He was a pioneer pilot in northwest Oklahoma, holding a license for
more than 30 years.

Survivors include his widow, Betty, of the home; two sons, Dan L.
and Tom B., both of Enid; a brother, Frank, of Borger, Texas, and
his mother, Mrs Forrest A Hackett, Enid.

C. DILLINGHAM IS DEAD at 90; RITES SATURDAY

Services for Charles Burton Dillingham, 90, of
1018 N Lindsay, who died Thursday in Hubbard
Hospital after a lengthy illness, will be at
10 am Saturday in the Guardian Funeral Chapel
with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of Kentucky, he was bron Dec.31, 1869,
at Smith Grove, in Warren County.

After living at Burton, Kan. and Nevada, Mo.,
for 14 years, Dillingham came to Oklahoma in 1891,
settling at El Reno where he staked a claim in the
Cheyenne and Arapaho Reservation territory. He
lived there until 1907 when he came to Oklahoma City.

In 1908, he established the Dillingham Electrical
Contracting Co., and was active in the firm until
he retired in 1943. From 1925 to 1931, he was owner
of the Home Drug Store, 700 Block E 10.

He was a member of the Maywood Christian Church from
1920 to 1945, and served as a deacon. After church
was discontinued, he transferred to Putnam City
Christian Church and in 1951 became united with the
Lincoln Terrace Christian Church.

He was married to Lula Schwarberg, also a pioneer
Oklahoman, in 1894 at El Reno. She died
April 28, 1955.

Survivors include two sons, John E. Dillingham, of
Bartlesville, and William J. Dillingham, Oklahoma
City, and one grandson.

His grand daughter Elise Dillingham Thomas, daughter of
Willian N. Dillingham and Bette beatrice dillingham was
married to my grandfather Jesse Thomas.

I was wondering if anyone had a current email address for Larry Lieneke or E. Dean Savoini.

I need information on the on Vachel Dillingham family. I have been tying to help a friend to document her line to join the DAR.

I have her line back to Samuel George who married Martha Ann Stallions. The 1860 Census shows them all in the household together.
But ...... Nancy Jane (Dillingham) Carter Weeks's DC lists James Dillingham as her father. Nancy Jane's husband gave the information.

Who was Samuel George Dillingham's father? I need the line back to Vachel Dillingham from Samuel George Dillingham that married Martha Ann Stallions?
Some say the father of Samuel George is George Samuel Dillingham and now I found someone said his father was James Dillingham, Jr.

Can you tell me where to look for any of this information. I have Caldwell Co books and some Christian Co. and have searched through all I have. I will get the copies if someone can just tell me where to look. Hope that someone can help with any of this.
