Descendents of Thomas Dingwall and Ellen Ross

I would like to make contact with any of the descendents of Thomas Dingwall and Ellen Ross married in Alness and Kiltern on 1st and 2 nd August 1823.
Their children are as follows;

Finlay, christened 10 Jan 1827 at Kiltearn,
Ann, DOB 19 Dec 1828 at Kiltearn,
Alexander, (My Great Grandfather) 24 Oct 1830, at Kiltearn,
Catherine, DOB 19 May 1833 at Rosskeen,
John, DOB 8 Jun 1835 at Rosskeen, and
William, DOB 30 Oct 1841 at Rosskeen

I have a coniderable amount of information on Alexander but only limited data on the remainder of the family.
I am willing to share what I have.

looking for Alexander Dingwall

I am seeking information about Alexander Dingwall, who lived in Edinburgh Castle late 1700's- early 1800's. He was the last "Keeper of the Royal Stuart Crown".
I don't know who his wife was, but his daughter's name was Clarinda. She married Thomas John Duncan.

Hello - I live in Cape Breton, Canada - have been searching for information on William Dingwall and spouse Marion McRae. I have information about their marriage and their siblings from the 1881 census but cannot track any information about their siblings. They include Kate, Daniel, Joan, John, Alexander, William - all born in either Harris or Glasgow. One son - William - came to Cape Breton and is my grandfather. He was born in 1873. I also believe Alexander went to Canada and lived in Manitoba. However, I am searching for information on the other siblings.

Death of Mr. Duncan Dingwall in Bermuda

Anyone interested in a copy of the U.S. Department of State's "Report of the Death of an American Citizen" for Mr. Duncan Dingwall, please contact me so I can conduct research to locate the record. Mr. Dingwall died in Bermuda on September 11, 1923.

Alexander+Donald Dingwall left Scotland 1860-70 for Colorado

My g.g.grandmother's two older brothers left Scotland for America after their mother , Jane McKenzie Ross, died. What became of them? I would dearly love to know.

Isabella Dingwall 1860

I am looking for this ancestor - she had two sisters and three brothers and was born in Thurso - I believe. Her mother died soon after her birth, and she left for London in about 1879, where she met and married my great grandfather, David Dakers, himself having left Scotland at the same time.

Just thought I would post incase anyone is interested and please note I have no info on these people
I was at the ST.Peter`s anglican church and Chruchyard today and I took a few pictures of head stones there, As I was there for genealogy on Blair`s for I been promising someone for too long to get there.

and there was a headstone that read
jane Blair
wife of roderick Dingwall
june 1863 or 1853 I had hard time reading the year

This cemetary is located in Mississauga Ontario Canada
It is also knowen as Erindale and before Erindale it was knowen as springfield.

I have an original studio photograph of “Anna Dingwall”, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in 1922, and on the photo with her name is “from Canada – 1922 Nurse’s Class”. Photo was taken in Battle Creek (Calhoun Co.) MI, and she looks to be about age 22-25 in the photo.

I found Anna Dingwall in the 1920 census for Battle Creek, MI, showing she was age 23 and born in Canada.

Looking to share information about Isabella Dingwall, b. c. 1849 in Canada, married William H. Adams in Kankakee, Illinois in 1873, lived Ventura California c. 1880 and in Los Angeles by 1900. She was the aunt of John D. Calder, so may be the daughter of Murdock Dingwall. I believe she was arelated to the David Morrison family, and to Julia (m. Oscar Todd) and John (G. or D.) Burch, all of whom were born in Canada, lived in Livingston Co., Illinois about 1865, and most of whom moved to Ventura about 1875 and Los Angeles about 1885. A handwritten note in Todd family papers says that 'cousin Bella Adams says that the grandmother of her and Alice Todd Baker was a McKenzie'.

Hi - looking for information on whatever happened to my grandfather's sister. Her name was Kate (Catherine) Dingwall - daughter of William Dingwall and Marion McRae. She shows up on the 1881 census as age 1 so she would have been born in 1880. I am trying to fill in the missing pieces of my grandfather's family - in particular his siblings. Would love to make a connection with a "living" family member.

Hi - I'm trying to locate any family of my grandfather's brother Daniel Dingwall who was married to Catherine Mathieson. Daniel's death record shows he was 66 years old at the time of his death September 19, 1941. At that time he lived at 8 Blackwood Street Glasgow. I am hoping to make contact with or find out about any of their children who may be living in Scotland. Daniel's brother (my grandfather) was William Dingwall and he moved to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia around the end of 1890's. They were the children of William Dingwall and Marion McRae. I am looking for information on Catherine Dingwalls family. I know she was born about 1783 (possibly Aug 16, 1771) and married Murdock McKenzie. I am fairly sure her parents were Alexander Dingwall and Christian McRory(McRyrie/Ross?) and that they were married about 1770. I am at a complete stop on her side of the family line. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Am searching for information on my mother's family. Donald James Dingwall was born in Canada and married Jean Alexander. They had two children - Allan Grant Dingwall, born 13Sep1894 in Detroit Michigan and Marjorie Dingwall.
My mother, Dorothy Dingwall, was born in Detroit Sep9,1922. I have found mention of Donald in Hamilton, Ontario, 1875-1976 working as a machinist for the GWR (Great Western Railway).

Can the Dingwalls in Sweden tell us when a branch of the family settled there from Scotland? I believe the Dingwalls and Munros were Mercenary Soldiers in the Swedish (& other countries) army in the 1600 to 1800 AD period......

I have extremely little on Anne Dingwall born around 1775 place unknown. She married one William (McKay of some spelling). They may have lived in the US through the first 6 or 7 of their kids. Sometime, poss. around 1811 or 12, he either moved to England, Scotland, or Ireland but did end up in Canada.
