Cindy, Your email won't go through. Please email me. Meanwhile, you ask who Annie Beaver was. She was Armacinda Annie Yeakley, daughter of William Henry Harrison Yeakley and Sarah M. Riley. She married Robert L. Beaver and they had 3 children. I do wonder why he is not buried in Bethel??? I will keep a look out for your email.

Love
Linda Morris

Dear Cindy,
Someone just sent me a death certificate for Thomas J. Yeakley b. Aug 10, 1872 and died December 8, 1911. It states right on it that the body was buried at Bethel. Would it be too much if I ask you to look for it when you go the next time. I am not sure there is even a head stone for him. It truned out that he and Rosa were divorced and she had remarried Charles King by that time. He is the son of Michael and Emily and the father of Grover Yeakley.

Thank you

Linda

Blevins marriages

HI,
No wonder you are confused, most of us have been. Finally we got the records for all of them. Part of the problem was a family Bible that had a comment on the side. Confused us all.

Jacob William Blevins s/o Jesse & Rosanna (Lower) Blevins
b. 6 June 1844 Buchanan Co., Missouri
d. 22 August 1921 Cresent City, Logan Co., Oklahoma
m. 8 March 1866 Buchanan Co. Missouri
Margaret Emaline Yeakley d/o William 'Henry' Harrison Yeakley and Mary 'Rebecca' Cotter. Aka Henry & Rebecca
b. 16 July 1846 Buchanan Co., Missouri
d. 27 May 1916 Cresent City, Logan Co., Oklahoma

Daniel Morgan Jr. Blevins s/o Daniel & Lucy (Roberts) Blevins & cousin to Jacob William Blevins
b. 10 June 1838 Missouri
d. 2 November 1921 Doniphan Co., Kansas
m.1 June 1858
Margaret Catherine Sandy d/o Henry Sandy & Elizabeth Carson
d. 17 May 1916 Doniphan Co., Kansas

You can see part of what happened with just the dates. To make matters worse, Margaret Sandy had 3 sisters that married cousins to Margaret Yeakley. 1 Cotter and 2 Dittemores. This was the most complicated of all relationships to figure out too. I can't take the credit for it but someone else. All the records, Birth-death-marriage -Census up to 1920 were ordered and gone over.

I of course added to the confusion and am truly sorry. Wish I could correct it with everyone but I don't know haw many got caught up in this.

For about 3 generations in the Dittemore and Yeakley families there were a lot of very very close marriages and it all was very hard to figure out. Margaret Yeakley's father married 3 times and had children by each wife during that time. Out of that generation, I had those two families connect to my Wilson family too. Quite exciting to trace.

Linda
Then who were Margaret Emeline Yeakley's parents? Did she first marry Jacob William Blevins & secondly marry Daniel Morgan Blevins? When were Margaret Emeline & Daniel Morgan Blevins married? I am afraid I am a bit confused and need help sorting out your comments. I only have Margaret Emeline Yeakley marrying Jacob Wm Blevins. Thanks for bearing with me.

I have never been able to travel to St. Joe to visit the cemetary but I recognize so many of the names from hearing my grandfather talk about family and my mother's mentioning her cousin's names. I am a Mary B. Yeakley and Adam Dittemore descendent and down about 6 or so generations. What a wonderful surprise to find your website. Again, thank you .

A very distant cousin in Texas,
Kathy Hanson

If you don't mind my asking, where do you live?
I am searching for Dittemores (or Detemore) in Indiana. My 3 great grandfather is James Detemore (the last name could be spelled many different ways). James was born in 1817 in Virginia. He married Mary Snowden a little before 1850. Mary was born in 1826 in Kentucky. In the 1850 US Census they were living in Johnson Co Indiana. In the 1860 US Census (Johnson Co Indiana) they had four children: Jordan (b:1854), James Newton (1855-1933), Susan (b:1858), and Byron (b:1859). All the children, I think were born in Johnson Co Indiana. Any information about the family in Indiana or in Virginia would be appreciated.

Hi Ann, I have read your post several times and never responded but I have not forgot it either. As you can tell most everyone on this site come from John Dittemore who was in Pennsylvania at the time of the Rev.War. It may well turn out later that that is where yours and ours connect. If this ever does happen I would like to know. Wish I could do the research but I live in Phoenix, AZ and the library here has next to nothing on geneology. Your site looks like it will be a real success.

Linda

Dittemore's in BUCHANAN CO., MO - Bethel Cemetery

I have recently completed photographing and transcribing 85 headstones at Bethel Cemetery, Buchanan Co., Missouri. Many of the stones are old and weather worn so they are very hard to read. Please feel free to check out this site and let me know of any errors or additional information I overlooked. Also any Dittemore headstones I may have missed. I hope to return in the near future.
The site is at

http://freepages.misc.rootsweb.com/~marcell/BETHEL.htm

Thanks, Cindy
http://freepages.family.rootsweb.com/~marcell/

Mary Huntsinger Hooper Dittemore - Doniphan Co. Kansas

Mary's husband Parker A Hooper was killed in 1861in a gunfight by John Cummins (son in law?). The Hoopers and Cummins families were next door neighbors in 1860 in Wof River, Doniphan County, KS. Mary shows up on the 1870 Census as Mary Moore with children Benton Hooper, Eliza Hooper and Sarah E. Hooper in Doniphan Co. Kansas; 1880 she is in Sonoma County, Ca. with daughter Elizabeth Hooper listed as Mary Dittemore. Does anyone know who second husband Dittemore was? The Cummins, Hoopers and Dittemore were some of the first settlers in Doniphan County Kansas on Wolf River.

I would really like to see what you have and try to run this down. I will tell you now that all of the Kansas Dittemores were from Adam Dittemore and Mary Berger. Mary married twice and there are a lot of us that are our own cousins, being from both marriages, and I would love to hear from you.

Linda Morris

Hi, Sorry it took me so long but I have checked and double checked everything I can and still could not find Mary. I am so sorry. You see there were quite a few family members that went to California from Kansas. I do have one more person to check with. She is from the Kansas family and knows much much more than I do. I really am very interested in finding her and putting her with the right husband. What a story. I am about equally Yeakley as I am Dittemore and believe me, the Dittemore family was much more interesting. Thank you for contacting me and I will be back with you if I can figure this out.

Linda

Hi, I am searching my Dittemore roots and my ggrandmother was Myrtle Ivy ( or Ivy Myrtle) Dittemore. She was born 11 feb 1882, married Henry Richard Shaw 30 Mar 1903, and died 24 Dec 1975. I think her parents were Adam Dittemore and Harriet Graves. Any info would be great. Thanks
