I think your family must be related to mine, as my Dodds were living in and around Winston at that time and the name Joseph does occur in the family, but I don't have anything at the moment to link your Joseph to my family. Your Joseph's father could possibly have been William, George (my ancestor) or John Dodds, sons of John and Elisabeth Dodds, all born in the 1750s. Alternatively, he could have been the son of a cousin of my family, but I don't have any information about the parents and siblings of John senior. If I come across anything I'll let you know. Do you know an approximate year of birth for Joseph? Thank you.
