I, too, am interested in Dodds family from Scotland. According to a St. Lawrence Co., NY history John, Thomas and Andrew Dodds families came from Roxboroughshire between 1816 and 1819, via Quebec, Canada and St. Lawrence River. They established what is known as the Scotch Settlement in Rossie-Gouverneur area of St. Law. Co. My ggggrandfather was Michael, gggrandfather M.G, ggrandfather George Gilbert. All came from Rossie area. I haven't yet found which of the original three is in my direct line. I do have newspapers clippings concerning the John Dodds family and his family is buried in the same cemetery as all my ancestors. If any of things seems to tie in with your research, please contact me. I will share anything I can find. Jean Dodds Given
