Linda,
My third great grandfather Michael, son of John and Elizabeth, was, I believe, christened in Northumberland sometime before 1810. It seems that the family moved back and forth between Roxborough and Northumberland. I have been told by a genealogist that at that time a child could not have been christened Michael in Scotland. I do think Michael was born in Roxborough. I don't know more than that about the family in Scotland but I do have information on them in the USA. if you find any ties I would like to exchange information with you. The whole family, including Elizabeth, came to the US about 1816-1819. John died about 1795 in Scotland and is memorialized in Oxbow, Jefferson County, NY, cemetery.
