Pat, I just can't tell you how grateful and giddy I am to hear from you. Harmond Norris Dorough is my GGrandFather-in-Law. His Daughters Teala May Magdalene and Anna Lee Dorough lived out their childhoods with their mother, Artie Mae Swain Woods Dorough Roberson Arnold in the TX./OK. area. The Roberson name came from her sister's husband. She died from an absessed tooth and left him with several children to raise,so the children were farmed out to family members and separated. She married him at her father's request and brought the children back together and they all worked his cotton farm including Harmond's girls until the children were older and then she moved on to the real love of her life Mr. Arnold, whom the girls thought of as a father. He provided well for them. The girls were told that Harmond died when they were young and there was only one photo of him existing: it was long ago lost. I found a photo through one of the Roberson GGrandChildren that we believe to be Harmond and his girls when they were young, so I know he went on to live a long life and had at least 3 more children. What more do you know???? I would love to share the Photos I have of Harmond's daughters and their descendants. I am the storyteller in this family and I believe it's important to share it all.
my email is flyboyzgrl@earthlink.net--970-223-6222
Thank you again: Micci Lamb

James Monroe Dorough is the son of Harmon Norris and Jessie Murriel SHERMAN Dorough: they had at least 2 other children: Hazel Dorough SCOTT d. 1941 and Anita LeVoun Dorough JACKSON b. 1926-27 d.? There was also a son born to Harmon Dorough named H.N. Dorough b. VanZandt TX 1912, I think the mother's last name was Butler. H.N. Dorough was also in WWII according to records. Harmon Norris Sr. was married to our G.Grandmother Artie May SHARP Dorough first in the early 1900's, as they had our Mammy(Teala Mae Magdalene Dorough GODDARD) in 1903 and then her sister in 1905, Anna Lee Dorough. Mammy was told her daddy (Harmon) died when she was 3 years old. He obviously did not. He died in 1953 in Texarka, TX. and is buried in Mt. Moriah, Ms. in the Church Cemetery with your daddy, James Monroe Dorough Sr.

In 1850 in Dooly
Counth there is a Thomas (Tsic census) L. Smith whose wife if Harriet M and she has
a daughter Sarah and Marion/Marmian H.
Do you know if there is any connection between the above. If so Do you have any
information concering the Smith Gentleman
for my greatgrandfather John G Smith is
also listed with them in that 1850 census
and I am at a dead end.
Pat, I see where you were talking Dorough's
in Dooly county GA.
On the 1850 Dooly Cendsus I have a Thomas L Smith
that marries Harriet Smith and they have
daughters Sarah 2 and Mariam Smith 1. I find
a Thomas L Smith marries Harriett M Dorough dec 12 1846
in Crawford GA. This is a possible marriage
record for them. If so in your book is there
any information about This marriage and particular
the Smith. It appeares that My greatgrandfather
John Gardner Smith is in the houehold with
them on the 1850 Dooly Census. Gertie Pauline Greenlee.(OK) The only child I have listed for them is a Euell Dean Dorough. He was born in 1927. I believe Vestia, Gertie and Euell all died in CA.
Can you confirm this information. I would also like any info you might have about their other children.
Thanks,
Barb
