When I research my great-great- grandfather, John Thomas Drake, b. Mar 17, 1823 or his son, James Thomas Drake b. 1846 (both born in TN and lived in Bedford, and Rutherford TN) Jonathan Drake and Eliza Abernathy marriage info and TN Census come up for further research as if there is a connection between them. I haven't been able to find it. Do you know of any? John Thomas Drake first married Melissa Hall in 1844, then in 1854 he married Mary Ann Newman. If you have any information on who John Thomas Drake's father is I'd appreciate any information. Thank you so much! Rebekah

Thomas, Isaac & Noble Francis Drake

This is my line, but Noble Francis was taken to Grimsby, Canada by his maternal grandmother, Lydia Arms (I think she was the one), when Isaac died in 1830 and Noble was 10. If anyone has any birth, death or marriage certificates showing these men's relationships, I would be so amazed because I seem to be the last Drake in this line of Drakes. I find many references to them on LDS and Ancestry, but I can't find any positive proof this is true.
Can anyone tell me where to go to get solid proof?

Drake Lineage

I am a beginner researcher and looking to connect any dots possible. Stuff I know for sure are as follows:
My GP's are David Fredrick Drake(1920-1991) m. Betty Jane Davidson(1921-2000), lived in Ohio all their lives as far as I know. Then David's parents are Silas F Drake(1891-1977) and Emma Green(1895-1976), Silas' parents are Benjamin(1862-1943) and Francis Lydick(1858-1931), and I think Benjamin's parents are Silas(1813-1864) and Emily(1827-1912). ALL dates are approximate except my GP's and Silas' & Emma are pretty close. Everything gets sketchy here. So if you are reading this and can help me connect dots anywhere it would be appreciated. I have no one to really confirm with other than what I find online or whatever. So message me if you can help me. I am looking to get further than Benjamin and Francis because I am pretty sure I'm right up to that point ;o)

I am trying to find more info on my gggrandfather John Thomas Drake. He was the innkeeper of the Pavillion Hotel in Dover. He had a wife named elizabeth and my ggrandfathers name was stephen butcher drake. I can find him on the 1841 census living at the custom house quay, as well as the 1851. the 1861 is a mystery, as he would have still been the innkeeper there during that time. He died in 1891 in that hotel, and i have found the will for him. I can't however find any concrete birth info on him. 1841 says he was born 1816, the rest of the census say 1820 is, and will says 1816. i know the census could round up or down sometimes, but i know ive got the right guy. they were a mariner family and he owned a ship. my ggrandfather stephen was an engine fitter on the steamships on the 71 and 81 census. I want to get back father but need help. can anyone help me? does any of this sound familiar to anyone??

Hi! I found a James William Drake b. Nov. 21, 1843 in Hardin, KY. He died Sept. 30, 1943 in Lincoln, OK. I'm looking for the connection (if there is one) between this James and James William Drake b. 1770 in Amelia Co., VA who married Prudence Archer Hastings. I hope this helps!

Hi, my name is Mary Porter. I have been reserching my mothers family and come upon your post about Thelma Mae Drake. She is my great aunt. Her sister Mary Pauline Drake is my grandmother. She pasted away when my mother was only 7 so there was little knowledge of the Drake family. We just found out about them being in a orphanage and are stuned. Earl Skadden and Miss Alice Drake, both living near Scotia, stole a march on their friends last Monday when they drove to Albion and were united in marriage. Only a very few of their closest friends were told of their plans.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Drake and has been attending high school in Scotia. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Skadden and graduated from Scotia High school in 1925. Both are well and favorably known in Scotia and vicinity.
They will make their home with the Skaddens where Earl will help his father with the farm.

YOUNGSTOWN – Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church for Carl Drake Jr., 74, who departed this life peacefully on March 1, 2012.

Mr. Drake was born in Youngstown, Ohio on Jan. 25, 1938, the son of Carl and Georgiana Johnson Drake Sr.

He was a graduate of The Rayen School and had attended Youngstown State University.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service on Oct. 3, 1993, as Postmaster of Girard.
Carl worked for over 30 years at the Postal Service serving in many positions starting as Distribution Clerk at the Main Post Office in Youngstown, and was promoted to various positions including Customer Service Supervisor, Route Examiner Youngstown District, Supervisor Boardman Post Office, Assistant Postmaster of Campbell and Canfield, Ohio.

He was a member of the Postal Supervisors Association, National Association Postmasters U.S., National Association Retired and Active Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 2122 Vienna Air Base, Audit Committee National Postmasters Association, and Phoenix Organization for Black Supervisors.
He was also the first chairman of Litter Committee Northeast Homeowners Concerned Citizens Association, and Representative for the Organization on the Judge Robert Millich, Housing Code Enforcement Committee. He knew the blighted areas on the Eastside and the houses that needed to be demolished. He was also financial secretary for 12 years for the NHCCA and was very involved with the McGuffey Center and the Eastside Library. He was also a member of Alpha and Omega First Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Gloria, whom he married May 24, 1958; daughter Robin (David) Patton of Brimfield, OH; son Kevin of Streetsboro, Ohio; grandchildren, Shayla, Kevena, Amber and Torren; sister-in-law Ida Mae Barron of Austintown, Ohio; brother-in-law John Faison of Youngstown; his aunts, Mabel Luckey and Helen (Shorty) Giles; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Eaton; and brother-in-law Emmanuel Eaton.

A special thank you goes to Hazel Greene his health caregiver who spent many hours by his side, and workers of Hospice of the Valley for their loving care.

My interest is in the Davis line of Loudoun Co., VA. Benjamin & Hannah Davis ha a daughter named Rachel b. abt 1751 who may have m. Benjamin Drake. The Davis family migrated to Loudoun Co. from Maryland in 1761 after obtaining a lifetime FAIRFAX lease on 100 acres. Benjamin Davis d. early May 1803 in Loudoun Co. and is buried at the North Fork Baptist Church cemetery.

Frances Drake, born May 14, 1710, married Mary Buckingham in England. Their son, Benjamin, born June 10, 1742, Married Rachael Davids born Dec 24, 1731 died Jane 13, 1803. Benjamin and Rachael had two children, Sarah and Enos. Enos, born Sept 3, 1775 married Jane Daniel born Mar 17, 1781. Enos and Jane had 10 children. The fifth of these 10 children was Mary, born Oct 30, 1809 who married Matthias Hann born Feb 19, 1812. I could not get your email address to work so hope this finds you.

Enos and Benjamin Darake are my gggg and ggggg great grandparents. I joined DAR on Benjamin Drake. Do you have a copy of the Drake/Hann family history that you can email me jrobscott@yahoo.com? Threr is dispute who are Benjamin's parents. Some say from New Jersey other say Farncis and Mary Buckingham Drake. They are using DNA testing. Records still ned to be had to proe Benjamin's parents. I was looking for same info, my great grand father, going back 14 or so generations was one of his brothers, but not sure if he was John (1500-88), Robert(1533-1600) or Williams (1564). I read a while back only 2 or 3 of the brothers survived, not sure this is correct.

Enos Drake, born Sept 3, 1775 and Jane Daniel Drake born Mar 17, 1781, were married Sept. 25, 1800. Their fifth child, Mary, born Oct. 30, 1809, would have been my great, great, great grandmother. I am new to research and have been going through old family history trying to figure out which way to go. I was happy to see so many names and dates that match. I also show Benjamin Drake born June 10, 1742, died Mar 15,1792, who was married to Rachel (Davids)or Davis on May 15, 1768. Rachel's birth listed as Dec. 24,1731, death Jan 13,1803. This is taken from a family history of the Drake/Hann family written in 1948. Hope this helps someone.

Drake-Gallagher connection in Kildorrery parish, cork, early 1800's

Land records have a notation that Maurice Gallagher of Kilcruaig, Limerick, was the descendant of a John Drake who had held land through a lease that was signed in 1799 in the townland of Boleynanoultagh (today called Ballynoulty), civil parish of Kildorrery, County of Cork. Lord Kingston has fallen behind financially so estates were up for sale in Cork in the late 1800's. I think the most logical connection between Maurice and John Drake would be if John's daughter was Maurice's mother. Maurice was the oldest son of Thomas of Kilcruaig, Limerick, but Thomas had been born in Ballynoulty. Hoping someone might have family information that would connect the Drakes and Gallaghers.

Mary Ann Drake was born 1830 in Talbotville Royal, Southwold Township, Middlesex County, Upper Canada and she spparently died about 1862 in the City of London, Middlesex County, Canada West. She was married to John McClary of McClary Stove fame and fortune and they had two children before she died. I am looking for her their birth and death records and burial locations. As well iam looking for a marriage record and photographs of the two. I also need to know which children were Mary Ann's and their birth records.

Thomas and Martha Drake 1830-1889

Thomas and Martha Drake came to Chillicothe about 1852 to 1860. They are in Talbotville Royal, Southwold Township, Middlesex County, Canada West in 1852 (they were born there) according that that Census, and in Chillicothe in the 1860 US Census. Deputy Sherrif Thomas Drake died 19 April 1889 from a kick in the head by a horse. Martha died 18 Deceember 1882. I am seeking photographs of these two people. I am descended from John Drake and Margaret Layman Drake of New York , possibly New Jersey. They had 7 children: Thomas E 1844 (my GGgrandfather) Catherine, Henry, John, George, Margaret, and James E. I have not been able to find parents for either John or Margaret, John being such a common name. Thomas married into a Warren family who descended from New Jersey Quakers, but no indication the Drakes were Quakers.
John and Margaret are buried in Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn. Any help would be appreciated.

This came up on a Google search. I am searching for Drake's in Halifax area (Northowram, Clayton, North of Boothtown).

My ancestor Elizabeth Drake b1828 (married a John Parker), her father was William b abt 1797 in Clayton I think. I think William's wife was Hannah unknown surname. And there I have got stuck.

There seems to be many William Drake's.

I am looking for information regarding the first wife of Paul Shirley Drake (1886 - 1952). I believe he was married to Bessie M. Unknown around 1912 and they were divorced sometime between 1917 and 1920. They had 3 children; James, Raymond, and Bessie.

Marjorie L LARUE and Anthony SUOZZO were married. Anthony SUOZZO was born. Marjorie L LARUE and Anthony SUOZZO had the following children:
